@Ranjib Thank you kindly for your help and your multiple suggestions.  After upgrading my iPhone app, I was able to produce a halfway decent pic but I'm guessing since my tank is nothing but white on white on black, theres not much to capture thats contrasting.

So Labs > Temperature for post shot tweaking the color temperature.  Do you play with the features that are available when taking the picture such as iso, exposure or white balance?  im a complete camera novice   seems like theres a balance to be made with those live camera options and then you warm it up after for a perfect picture.

You can adjust the sharpness (Same place as lab -> temperature)  a tiny bit . dont use it too much. I do not do any other post processing. Follow the rule of 1/3rd while taking photo. Turn off pumps and switch off all other lights during the photo shoot

I lost the blasto :-( . I believe its due to the rainbow acan. It has killed 3 other corals before :-/  . I am worried what to do with the next neightbors (tangerine juice lepto, various zoas)

My sps are humming along. I am still in process of automating the dosing. pH probe integration is in progress. This years goal is to focus on sps growth, and if things go well, I'll focus on color later. I can grow easy to keep sps now, but some of the harder ones are still not thriving. My red dragon with only tiny bit of encrusting since its purchase (almost 4 months back, is a proof).

Tank is doing alright. I lost one side of the blasto, likely due to the rainbow acan. It has killed several corals before. But the rest of the blasto looks ok,.

I trimmed the holywood stunner challice. I am planning to remove it completely sooner or later, that piece of rock is really important for the other lepto, and i fear this challice will kill almost everything, and it also grows fast

SPS island. i think they are doing ok, not thriving or growing fast, but the stalemate are over, all of them has now started showing tiny amount of growth on base or on tips, after couple of months of nice PE , since i started dosing. A more frequent and smaller feeding of reef roid and oyester feast (alternate days) has helped i think

Red dragon is showing little bit more (few milimeter may be) encrusting on the bottom, i think theres little bit of PE as well,

My leptos are doing ok, after SPS , I probably love them most, and the zoas

This one on the bottom (the one for which i trim the holywood stunner)

Zoa island is pretty much out of real estate. I am thinking whats best , next. Should I keep it as it is, or frag some of the zoas, or just mobe one or two other corals completely. I am happy with how it is now.. so no rush

Finally I moved the goniopora and alveopora from middle part of the tank to bottom. The micro goni colony was stinging them. Also removed Hollywood stunner from the rock and relocated it

Finally I can take a good look at the cyphastrea , hope it grows better

Micro goni has more space now, it will be interesting to see which on grows faster here,

The relocated pink goni is now more reddish, with less polyp extension

the alveopora is visibly not happy, let’s see how things go in next few weeks

Zoa island is looking stunning as usual , except la lakers everyone kinda stalled in growth. I think the acan is looking better , the blasto to my surprise is recovering. I don’t know what it means, since the rainbow acan is still there and growing towards it

Just caught up. I'm a fan of Zoa island, I have a couple of them myself. What is the yellow encrusting oral next to the blastos? Your acan colony is also interesting. Is that an acan encinitas?

The yellow encrusting one is Tangerine Juice lepto from Cherry Corals, https://shop.jasonfoxsignaturecorals.com/products/lps-zw20

Yes, thats an acan enncinitas, not an expert on it, but thats what my readings indicate (from its aggression with other acans). Its very robust. When i had initially bought it I had no idea, I kept it on top of the tank, directly under kessil, where my acro leaves now, it survived there, then it was in one of my pico (which is the whole zoa island here), it grew very slowly till then, it has grown faster in BC back again, but at the bottom.

Got some time to take a few snaps. Current state:

Tank is doing ok overall. SPS are growing, some of the lps are not thriving. The white alveo pora is receding, I have a feeling i'll loose him. I dont have a good place to relocate him. He was not happy since the move. But then earlier place is a no go zone due to the sweeper tentacles of the micor goniopora

DSC_1175

Bubble algae has grown massive. Its stinging everything around. The frogspawn already lost couple of heads. I might frag him off. I dont have a good idea what to do with him. Everyone in the family loves this coral. I dont hate him, but then I have really limited space. If i do keep him for the long I have to think about space in that side of the tank

It’s been few weeks since I have installed the pH monitor on this tank (reef-pi), and that has revealed that my ph is hovering around 6.5 to 7.5

41701344064_54b0e07eeb_b.jpg

so starting today I am using kalkwasser (brightwell) in my ato. I’m going slow and adding only half spoon every 1g, which should be added over the course of 5 days. I’ll see what happens for few weeks and then decide on next steps.

i also did a 30% water change (for no particular reasons) as part of regular maintenance (I generally do 15%). Took some photo during that time (corals were exposed in air)

Since I have started adding kalk from this week, via my ATO, nothing chnaged significantly. I am seeing signs of bryopsis. Will see how bad it gets, if it gets very bad that I cant mechanically remove, i may use some fluconazole (reef flux).

So, I decided to rockscape 90 degree and detach the frogspawn. It was getting killed by the bubble coral.hoping the new arrangement will make things better.

Current fts

42275226044_1b42ab9c7c_b.jpg

I am see slow but persistent algae + cyano issues. I am specifically seeing it in places where corals are touching each other, battling it out, having some loss of flesh and then that area get algae , once I remove algae ,it gets cyano. I don’t have a good way to mitigate this, as there are multiple places in the tank where different corals are fighting for real estate .

other wise things are ok

On the zoa island , the rainbow acan continued to sting the blasto. It has lost significant amount of flesh. Other than that rest everything (zoas, plays and the other acan lord) is doing good

I suppose there could be worse things than coral growing so thick that it's stinging each other.  Keep up the good work.

Agree.

It feels so strange to peel off Liam’s clove from the rocks so that it does not invade other corals space (they grow fast in my tank )

it used to be one of my favorite coral.i still kinda like them. But they take over anything nearby then 😞
