Stop me, before i buy the wrong thing!

Right now i'm running Tunze 6015 with 1800l/h flow and another pump that takes the water from the top with 500l/h flow. Both are running in 16 gallon Dennerle reef tank.

I want to upgrade this setup:

- Throw away the smaller pump and replace it with proper Tunze nano 9001 skimmer.

- I think only 6015 won't be enough for flow so i would replace it with Tunze 6045 so i can adjust it's flow do around 2500l/h which should be enough? I could also adjust the flow later if needed.

What do you think? I have mostly soft corals, polyps etc, but i want to keep SPS too.

How are your corals growing? Is color good? Are there any dead spots in the tank?

If your corals are doing well, and there is no visible dead spots, then find a small frag of SPS to start out with. This way you can see if you need more flow or better lighting. There is no need to go out and buy new equipment if your current set up is adequate.

Grow is not very good, except Euphillia P. I can also see dead spots and it doesn't matter how i turn the pump.

I think my main problem right now is the light which is original Dennerle one and not centered over the tank. So my Euphillia that sits on the top rock gets all the light and does great, others not so much.

I already bought AI Prime led light (i'm still waiting for it) so i think i'll be able to solve light issues. I'll also take some Euphillia out.

Tunze 6045 pump would give me more options in terms of flow. I'll be able to try more and cut back if that will be too much.

Skimmer is something that would also help improve the quality of water. I'm doing regular weekly water replacement (30%). Is that too much? Maybe i'm stressing the tank too much every time.
