ADAPT
Ive read that CrushCoral substrates can become a nitrate factory,Would it be possible to use this to a advantage in a small macro algae tank to be able to get good growth and keep a good amount of nutrients in the tank for a large number of marcos? note: I would still keep up with cleaning of the substrate but it would be at a low rate to keep nitrates in the tank Link to comment
Subsea
Yes it is possible. I think it may become a difficult balancing act but it would easy enough to vacum out. In my 75G Jaubert Plenum, I use CarribSea Crushed Coral aroggonite 2mm-4mm in size. The bed is 4"-6" deep. Everyday, I stir up the top of the bed and I witness numerous filter feeders extending polyps to feed. I see little need for that in your nano tank. Link to comment
