zak.payne
With coming to the conclusion that having a light bracket that is in the water will not be a problem, I have officially begun my light search. I have really been drawn to the AI Prime because of the small footprint, WiFi capability and the energy efficiency (only 45W at 100%). Anyways, what would be your thought on putting one of these over a 24" long tank? According to AI's website, the spread should be OK. Maybe some darker spots on the edges but nothing too critical. Has anyone seen this tank over a similar tank or heard any reviews on the light that would change my mind? Link to comment
nismo_sky32
I had one over a shallow ada 60f. Everything had good lighting except for about 5 inches on the far end from the light. If mounted directly in the center, expect a few inches to be dim on each end. I guess it would depend on the depth of your tank too Link to comment
jolee0722
What are the other dimensions? You will definitely have some dark spots but shouldn't be too bad. You could always start with one and get a second one if you really need the spread. Link to comment
zak.payne
The dimensions are 23.6"L x 16.5W x 15.7"H. I would probably do two lights at some point, but to start I would hope I can get away with one. Link to comment
shaner014
Look around for some used Hydra 26's, I was able to find one with the director for under 250 Link to comment
zak.payne
I have looked at those, but I don't like that I can't mount it horizontally. At least not a bracket from AI allows me to do that. Link to comment

The wire hanging kit is super clean and easy. And could be modified to use with a bent conduit pipe, painted black or white to match. Link to comment
zak.payne
Unfortunately the hanging kit won't work for my set up because I have vaulted ceilings. If I could find a nice way to keep the sleek look of my tank and mount the light horizontally, it would be a no brainer to get a Hydra 26. Link to comment
