prizm or bak-pak?

I have a 10gal and I was wondering which is more efficient for a tank of my size

Bak-Pak.. I dont own one but the Prizm is the worst thing I have ever bought. I use it to circulate water. Hardly ever skims.

I have a bak-pak with a bubble trap on my 10g, seems to work well.

Back when I had a 20L I used a bak-pak and it worked pretty good. They seem to have improved the design since then too.

i don't believe the prizm is the worst thing, i actually use a prizm as my main source of filtration other than live rock and have had no problems with it & skims the heck out of the tank, it's just a matter of how you adjust the air & water flow. you can see pics of my tank by clicking on the link below.

 

my only gripe about the prizm is that it's a bit noisy

 

...oh and it also has an upgrade kit with surface skimmer if you get the basic one

I have the 2 bak-paks and a prizm. Definitely recommend the

bak-pak. Prizm, you always have to deal with adjusting water flow and other stuff but with bak-pak I just clean the waste collection cup and that's all.

IMO, go with the bak-pak....

Bak-pak is old technology. Highly recommend Prizm Deluxe with surface skimmer. Pulls out gunk like you would not believe.

My bakpak sucks

 

Had to overdrive it with a air stone in order to get it to pull anything out.

 

If you do get the bakpak, get the one with the maxi-jet pump.. rio's suck.

BakPak, it works really well on my 20 gallon. It pulls out alot of gunk.

does anyone use the standard rio or do you all replace them with the maxijet pump?

I still use the standard Rio.. If there was someone local that would stock the maxijet, I'd get it.

i have the prizm skimmer and it pulls all sorts or gunk out of my tank............i recommend it........
