Droy008
That just means you get to stay indoors to enjoy your tank more. Do you have a plan for a power outage? Problem is my tank is at my office, 30 minutes away... So ya, I'm really nervous for this storm. I have the tank connected to a battery backup. but if the power goes out for more than 8 hours, then I may be in serious trouble... 1 Quote Link to comment

Droy008
Well, I finally got out the DSLR yesterday. I'm not going to lie, I have absolutely no clue, with what I am doing with this thing. I have been delving into the photography world every so slowly. I just picked up a used Tamron lens on ebay for $50.00, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. **All pictures taken with a Nikon D3200+Tamron 70-300mm macro lens** (Seem a bit too blurry) (F*** trying to capture a picture of this girl!) And Finally an updated FTS! 4 Quote Link to comment

FlowerMama
Love your tailspot. I think you're already doing a fantastic job. Everything's looking clear! 1 Quote Link to comment
Droy008
Thanks flowermama, I've been watching the crap out of YouTube tutorials, as well as reading a ton of articles. Drgibby, I found mine on ebay for $150.00 With the justification that I could also use it for taking nice pictures of the kids. 1 Quote Link to comment
Droy008
So I started to dose NoPox daily at 1ml about 1 week ago. I tested nitrates and phosphates today. Nitrate: 5ppm Phosphate: 0.00.... I turned off my reactor last week, so I am not running gfo right now. The trouble is, my corals all look great! Before you ask I am testing with a Hanna low Phosphate reader. Should I be concerned? Quote Link to comment

Droy008
Well, I've decided to remove my clown fish. She was acting a bit weird, and having temperament issues with the gobies and blenny. On the flip side my bioload is now reduced. 2 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Sounds like she needed more room the 10g tank. Looks like it was a good move especially if it improves water quality 1 Quote Link to comment

Looks like it was a good move especially if it improves water quality TBH the water quality has been absolutely great lately. I haven't had to do much outside if the 10% WC a week. Nitrates stay rock solid at 3ppm, while phosphates haven't budged past .04. But I am really trying to focus on providing the ideal SPS environment. And with the fish being stressed, I think it was making thing a bit more challenging. As a quick update, I think my tailspot is the happiest fish on earth now. He has 2 honeymooners sharing a small cave with a candy cane pistol shrimp as neighbors, otherwise he has the entire tank to himself. 1 Quote Link to comment
DaveFason
Photos look awesome! Are you still using the Mini Tide? If so do you mind if I share your tank on FB and IG? 2 Quote Link to comment

Droy008
So everything has been running super smoothly lately, and I have been super busy with my new office. But as I was feeding my fish today I noticed that this little acro that hasn't been doing much of anything lately, has started to turn green on its tips! Super excited to see these corals coloring up in such unusual ways. Also this is as close to true color as I could get it, that spongeodes is that bright! 1 Quote Link to comment
Droy008
So I just tested water this morning. I am having a really hard time keeping my Po4 up. My Hanna checker now has read 0.00 for 1 week straight, and I have noticed my corals have not seemed super happy. Has anyone dosed Po4? If so what do you use? Quote Link to comment
Droy008
Well it's been a while since i've updated things, but not a whole lots changed. I have started to get some STN on my pocalapora coral, it seems to start at the base and work its way upwards, yet the tips of the coral seem perfctly fine/happy. Aside from that, everything continues to grow and be happy! This silly shrimp literally follows me everywhere in the tank. Probably because he know I will feed him. 1 Quote Link to comment
Droy008
I took a quick little video of the tank before leaving the office last night. 2 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Wow, everything looks great! I had the same problem when I had the spongeodes in my 4g tank, it was almost impossible to get a decent picture of it because it was so bright. 1 Quote Link to comment

Droy008
So I have been doing so many things, that I've really slacked on updating this. Here's 2 quick shits from last week. After a small mishap with my doser dumping a ton of acropower into my tank, I've been battling algae since. And finally a quick little video of the tank as it sits meow. Note: New phone (Galaxy S8+) = Better pictures. Quote Link to comment
