And I love how bright the merletti is in the background and the rfa upfront. I used to have one that looked like that.

That merletti started as a single head, it's up to 6 now. :D

So I picked up a second little YWG today.

after a funny display by my female the little one quickly understood his place in the tank. :P

Here they are together.

And some progress shots of some of the corals.

I also found this interesting little guy on my MagRock.

Not quite sure what it is.

and a little closer.

It almost looks like a RFA but it has polyps similar to my pocilipora.

Those two YWG's are so cute together, do they stay that way, or did they each find a separate cave?

They are officially paired. :D

The larger one (female) that I've had for a year now has become more solitary, while the new little one (male) is very curious and outgoing.

But they are normally found together and they do share a space during the night.

Hopefully they stay together.........that first pic of them is sweet looking.

Any way to get a closer shot of whatever is on the rock?

I'll try to bring the "real" camera tomorrow, and get a closer shot.

I hope the YWG continue to get along, and even better, maybe even start making babies.

I might have to get out some Barry Manilow for them ;).

so I went to check my dosing operation today.

I am now almost out of everything.

Holy-moly you go through stuff when dosing regularly!

I will say that the Aquaforest Reef salt has been absolutely awesome so far.

My Nitrates and phosphates have been at there lowest levels, and my corals are at their brightest.

My fish seem to be happier, and my skimmer has been pulling some good stuff out regularly.

Overall I am very impressed. :D

I've got a box of Aquaforest salt in the garage just waiting for me to use up the old salt :)

I just did a little more than a 10% water change today.

You'd never know, my sps didn't even pull in their polyps.

I'm very happy so far.

I love blastos, that's actually a wellsi, merletti is the much smaller variety.

Here's a couple shots from after today's water change.

I had gotten the water drained from the back chambers when I noticed that my TSB was missing!

I looked everywhere for him, including my drain bucket and he was nowhere to be found.

Then I caught sight of movement by the return nozel....

I was worried he might get hurt in there, so I tossed some flakes in.

He really has become quite the ham. :)

I also noticed a bunch of hydroids on some of my zoas.

I pulled them out, dipped them in H202, then scrubbed with a soft toothbrush.

Hopefully that will rid them of the hydroids that seemed to be bothering them.

Also I have noticed that my Nephthea has almost doubled in size since I'd gotten it, this thing is growing like mad!

And lastly, here's a picture of me eating lunch last weekend half way up Mt. Shasta.

The view is pretty amazing. B)

OMG that view is stunning! Hiking? Skiing? Yeah, many people have lost tailspots in pumps. They love hiding in there. I had to check daily to make sure mine wasn't in there.

yes, I am now checking my return pump regularly. :)

In that picture we hiked up above lake helen, and then ski'd down.

Beautiful view! I love skiing but haven't been in years, it sucks getting old

I had hydroids once on a zoa frag, and unfortunately peroxide didn't do a thing to them. I ended up very carefully pulling them out by the roots with a small pair of forceps, and they never came back (once I got all of them).

You're never to old to go skiing.

I met a guy at the ski Park he was 86 and learning to ski for the first time!

As for the hydroids, I hate them. They are everywhere in my tank lately. I have tweezers, but they can't seem to be able to grab them very well.

I did brush the crap out of the zoas, so I'm hopeful it knocked them off.

I guess time will tell.

Those colors look great! Like you said, the real trick is keeping things stable in a small tank.

That might be more challenging now with over 3 feet of snow expected to fall in the next 3 days...

That just means you get to stay indoors to enjoy your tank more.

Do you have a plan for a power outage?
