reefrox
Hey reefers. So my tank is being setup and am planning livestock for my mixed reef 34g cube (with 10g sump). After much reading, need help finding the last piece of my puzzle. So im going to add: 2 wyoming clowns 1 midas blenny 1 firefish. (Invert, 1 cleaner shrimp and some crabs n snails). Looking for one more 'show' fish to swim arround and be active. Not too small. Looking for something fully reef safe and def non aggressive. Ive ruled out chromis, and mandarins for their temprement. Flame angels too again because of their temptement. Any thoughts? Link to comment
vlangel
Maybe a royal gramma? I have one with seahorses and it's sweet. Sometimes they will open their mouth but it's all bluff and no bite. Link to comment
HarryPotter
A wrasse! There are so many beautiful varieties. Link to comment
TFish77
Recommendations: Six Line Wrasse (Incredibly interesting swimmer. Will go in and out of caves and hole all day long. Royal Gramma (Beautiful Purple and yellow coloration. Less aggressive than a psuedo or dottyback. Geo Hawk Pygmy Wrasse And my personal recommendation (As long as you have a lid) Blue Spot Jawfish :-) Good luck with everything! Link to comment
reefrox
Thanks guys. 6 line looks really cool (not as cool as a leaopord wrasse : )), however ive ready scary things about six lines going postal in a tank over time. Live aquaria is saying most of the wrasses need bigger tanks. Any other specific wrasse that you think might work? Royal gramma seems good. Wish it was a little bigger. Would a golden basslet be a good choice? Since im going to get the midas the blue dot may not work, but looking at vids on him he looks great!! Great, the pygmy wrasse mentioned looks good. I think that may be a good fit, its diffent and cool looking!! Link to comment
Tamberav
My midas blenny was a bully. It may not get along with your firefish. Just a fair warning. It is a hit or miss with those fish. The smaller ones are much better. Link to comment
ndrobey
An Azure Damsel is the least aggressive of the damsels, and is a brilliant blue. Link to comment
jolee0722
Yes a wrasse. Most of the have really vibrant colors. I have a naoko's wrasse and it is easily the most colorful fish in my tank. Link to comment
reefrox
Midas was a bully. Guess all fish get teritorial i guess. All mostly heightend in smaller nano tanks. Naokos wrasse looks good. Also just saw a mystry wrasse. Great looking fish. Only problem is some sites rate these fish for 55g+. Plus semi aggressive. Link to comment
drago55272
I would look into the white banded possum wrasse very nice show fish. I think they grow to about 2 inches they are a hard find I always see the yellow banded but I don't think it has the same flash as the white. Link to comment

From my experience I have had him in my tank for about 2 months so take it with a grain of salt but he hasn't grown at all and is doing really well in my 30 gallon AIO cube. And for some reason, the most aggressive fish in my tank isn't him. It's my firefish. Link to comment
tautog83
clown fairy wrasse, or mccoskers flashers would be cool choices. just need a top. Link to comment
Learn It
I would not add a six line with a firefish...mine has become far too territorial. granted it is a smaller tank, however, it appears to be quite a common issue with this species. Link to comment

Royal gramma, or mccoskers flasher wrasse is my vote. Link to comment
ninjamyst
Royal gramma may hide a lot. What about a yellow coris (wrasse)? I read it is less aggressive than a sixline. Link to comment
drexel
I second the white banded possum wrasse. Very underrated fish. Shy at first, but come out after they are comfortable. Or, if you can find a Tanaka, even better. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1378+3041&pcatid=3041 http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+2124+3043&pcatid=3043 Link to comment

I wonder if that's an issue with specifically the red firefish. I have had a purple and a six line in a 20g for over a year now with no issues. However my six line did kill two red ruby dragonettes. Dropped a green spot mandarin in there and he never once touched him. Link to comment
