IM desktop filter socks

Hello all,

 

I just set up a new IM tank. Does anyone have any tips on washing the innovative marine filter socks? The ones attached to the plastic hangers.

I used the filter socks with the plastic hanger on my IM 10 for a short while. PITA to wash them. They are so small that turning them inside out is a pain. I use filter floss now.

I'm going to give that a go - easier just to toss it out than wash those things.

And expensive over time. Get a filter floss holder and use, well filter floss. Pays for iteself over a few tosses

I was using the desktop filter socks but now I make my own. I throw away the sock and reuse the plastic hanger. It doesn't take very long and I figure every one I make saves me at least $10. I got all of the supplies at walmart for about $20 and I have made probably 8-10 so far. Its worth a shot if want to try the socks again.

So it is safe to put them in the washing machine? I know the video says that, but has anyone had any issues? Thanks!
