LEDs for 36g bow...HELP!

Can you all please help me? I am pretty clueless when it comes to lighting. I have a 36g bowfront tank that is currently set up as a dirt planted freshwater tank. As much as I love it, I really, really want to get it salty.

Please recommend lighting for me! I don't like high-tech tanks and prefer to keep things as simple as possible.

- I want softies and some LPS.

- I do not want a hanging fixture and I'd prefer a light that can sit closer to the top of the tank as I don't like a ton of light spill.

- I don't need fancy stuff like storm settings, but dimmable and dusk to dawn effects would be great although not necessary. I don't like a super blue look.

- Standard dimensions: 21"H x 30"W x 18" deep, I think.

And, of course, I'm not looking to break the bank.

Also, I plan on replacing the center brace with a strip of acrylic to eliminate shadowing.

Thank you so much for helping an electrically-challenged girl!! :flower:

I have a 36bow I'm building lights for. The center brace is a pita to deal with but if you're taking it out I'd say a reefbreeders photon 24" would be a good choice for the money.

What are you building? I'm not opposed to actually doing the wiring and such if someone were to give me a shopping list. I just don't know enough to actually plan out what parts I would need.

An evil cluster variant.

Uses

2: 4000K 80 CRI Bridgelux V8 array

2: Luxeon K 8up Royal Blue

2: ReefLL True Violet 4 diode setups

2: Lumileds Rebel ES Lime

4: Lumileds Rebel Cool Blue

Divided into two clusters on either side of the brace.

I have a storm controller laying around so that will be the controller. Drivers are Meanwell LDD H series in a couple different current settings.

If you were to mimic this build I'd suggest a couple changes such as using 90CRI V8 arrays, using Luxeon M Royal blues (2 per K) if the Luxeon K are hard to source, and adding 2 Lumileds Rebel Cyan to the array. Also I'd just use the LEDGroupBuy violets since they're cheaper and have a lower shipping cost.

The reason I'm not making those changes to mine is because I already have the LEDs I listed laying around.

 Yeah, that made my head spin! I'd love to see pics once you get it built, though! As for me... I'll probably stick to the photon. :D

Any other options available out there?

hello?

Lots of options just not sure how much you'd like to spend and the tank is kind of deep for some of the cheaper options.
