iPhone
Background: I have been out of the hobby for a couple years and fell in love with the new reef ready series Red Sea recently released. I wanted a nano tank that had an overflow along with a sump, great ascetics and dimensions. My few choices led to cad lights, which I heard quality is going downhill quickly so that was a huge NO NO! Elos, I can just say one word about these tanks, PRICE! Innovative Marine tanks were my last choice but I didn't like the experience I had with my last AIO tank so I figured they're not suitable for me either. Red Sea had everything I wanted at a great price, although Im not much of a cube fan and never had a cube tank I figured i'd give it a try. iPhone
Picked up the tank today and purchased a prime with tank mount but the tank mount didn't fit so I have to swap it out for a hanging kit when it gets to the lfs. Stand was a pita to put together, broke a few of the cheap screws that you typically get with ikea furniture. Defiantly have to contact red sea about it, unfortunately they don't give you extras in the kit. Overall the tank is great quality, well worth the money. I am purchasing more equipment online tonight, want to get this thing filled by the end of next week! [/url] 2 Quote Link to comment

jbb
I assume that is the top off container sitting what appears to be directly over the filter sock. How do you access the sock ? form the pics I have seen it looks like a pain, but I'm thingknig it may also just be the camera angles. 1 Quote Link to comment

Its on a slider of sorts, theres enough room in the front to pull the filter tray forward to remove the sock :-) Hope that makes sense. 2 Quote Link to comment

HarryPotter
Why 3 hoses from the tank? This have a Herbie and whats the square black red sea thingy? I think its an emergency overflow. The square thingy is a ball valve? 2 Quote Link to comment
Lawnman
I think its an emergency overflow. The square thingy is a ball valve? The square is a adjustable drain valve like a Herbie. Cool tank I just read a bunch about it. 1 Quote Link to comment

What return pump and skimmer are you going with? going with an eheim 1260 hopefully. Holy moly haven't seen you in ages welcome back iphone. haha yeah I've been out of the game for a while. Thanks for the welcome back! hopefully this place is still like it was 3 year ago! I assume that is the top off container sitting what appears to be directly over the filter sock. How do you access the sock ? form the pics I have seen it looks like a pain, but I'm thingknig it may also just be the camera angles. the gray filter sock holder actually slides out,its very convenient. Also, you can take off the ato container,it sits on a rail. The square is a adjustable drain valve like a Herbie. Cool tank I just read a bunch about it. yeah thats what it is,that valve actually works nicely I've read 1 Quote Link to comment
iPhone
late update. Received my BRS shipment last week, didn't have much time to update the thread due to work and casino lol. Since my lucky at roulette was insane I can now afford some nice high end equipment lol. Apex gold maybe? I still need to get an ro/di, rock, sand and some smaller equipments. Used to have the BRS 75 gpd ro/di system and loved it,also will be going with either reef saver rock or the new project reef rock 2.1. I am in love with this ai prime, its so simple and fun to use. Hands down the best purchase yet. here are some update pics of equipment. please excuse the dirty glass, I haven't cleaned the glass on the inside. 3 Quote Link to comment
righttirefire
Doesn't count until it's wet... why not ReefCleaners rock? 1 Quote Link to comment
iPhone
Doesn't count until it's wet... why not ReefCleaners rock? I was thinking about it but I've bought reef saver twice and have nothing but good things to say about it. From the looks of it the RC rock is similar and a little cheaper, maybe Il try it out since you refreshed the idea! 1 Quote Link to comment
righttirefire
I've never used it, but plan to one my next build. 1 Quote Link to comment
iPhone
I may go with a custom aquascape done by someone in my area. I got my skimmer today but I have to send it back because its not the right model. I bought the reef octopus space saver 110 (new color black/red) but they sent me the old color even after I called them to confirm that they will ship me the new one. Quote Link to comment
