drgibby
Looking forward to the photos. Everything else doing well? Things are doing great Dave! I'll be sure to post pictures tomorrow. If I do get my bigger tank I'll be talking to you about a new light... thinking a t5 led hybrid or retro! 1 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
I'm glad things are going well! As long as all your acans are the same type, they will grow just fine together on the sand bed. That's the way I did mine in my 10g tank. 1 Quote Link to comment

That's the way I did mine in my 10g tank. Thats what were trying but with a little space between. Things are looking good with the new frags but i need some help to figure out if this is an enchinata or not. Also where to place it flow and lighting wise as it doesn't look happy like the others yet. I had to move a ricordia and a zoa colony off the sand and into the 10g but they look happy there . Maybe... the midnight princess i have is a favites and it took me forever to find out it liked no flow and lots of light.. they are similar i guess. Heres a side by side old picture of the midnight unknown.. ] Quote Link to comment
drgibby
so i woke up this morning and I saw one of my firefish resting on the sand. he was breathing but it was heavy. I grabbed the turkey baster to see if he would flee but he didn't when he pulled away he tried to swim but wasn't haveing much luck. I have no clue whats going on i wonder if a coral could have stung him possibly teh mystery one above. Checked all parameters and everything is normal. Thoughts is he a gonner... 20170117_074202 by drgibby, on Flickr Quote Link to comment

drgibby
well he was dead when i went home during lunch to check on him. When i took him out of the water to see if there was physical damage his underside had been nipped at and torn open... seems like maybe bullying had occurred both of them have been together for about a year now so maybe they reached maturity and had a fight last night... who knows... GunslingerGirl
So sorry to hear about your firefish. I had a couple a long time ago and one did eventually go after the other. I love the tank though! Very methodical looking. Tagging along! Quote Link to comment

drgibby
So sorry to hear about your firefish. I had a couple a long time ago and one did eventually go after the other. I love the tank though! Very methodical looking. Tagging along! Thanks this is the 4th firefish i have lost. At least this one died because of the other and not because he jumped out of my tank. He will not be replaced but man my tank looks empty with just the one now... options are so limited with a small tank 1 Quote Link to comment

It seems to be working as some are starting to peak through again.. here are pictures 20170201_082950 by drgibby, on Flickr i never noticed how much the stylophora blends in with the gsp in the background its like camo.. top down shot. 20170201_083056_001 by drgibby, on Flickr 4 Quote Link to comment

drgibby
I really can't believe how well the tank is doing. I cleaned up the return pump and the flow has really increased. Most of the corals are happy but their are times i dont think the rics like it to much. They kinda curl up like funnels. 2 Quote Link to comment

Mine used to do that, I think it had to do more with wanting a little more light than it did with flow. Or maybe it's a combination. When mine get too much flow, they tend the shrink up really small so that the water can't move them around as much. Quote Link to comment
