foxngn Posted September 26, 2015 Share Posted September 26, 2015 Hi all, I just purchased a 7 headed bicolor hammer, in fhe attempt of moving it to a desired location, i think i might hurt it a little, there is 2 -3 hammer tip fell off, u know the green hammer shape thing in the end of the tentacles, will it be alright ? Markburns43 Posted September 26, 2015 Share Posted September 26, 2015 We'll as it is never good to damage a coral while it's fairly new I the tank, it does happen. The other day I bumped and pulled or I should say pretty much popped a hammer polyp a couple at that, it was pissed of course, but it did heal, you just have to worry about infection such as fungus but seeing it was only tips of the hammer, not as bad as damaging the connecting tissue to the skeleton up under the polyps. Then I'd say maybe dip it. Long answer lots of rAmbling but yeah it will make it. Link to comment

It sits close to the glass & trying to get me hand down, I've scraped against it (the skeleton) & tore some tips off. It's usually pissed for a while, but no long term harm done.
