jmessineo1
I just picked up a Nuvo 30L I was considering getting two AI Primes to light the tank. I am looking to grow LPS, Softies, Leathers, and have a Nem. Do you think that would be enough light? Link to comment
braaap
For the price you are going to pay for the lights and mounts you can do better. You are going to be into them $450 not including any tax when all is said and done. You can find slightly used Radion XR15s and mounts for about $600. You would have much better lighting then. You can also find used Kessils and even some NanoBox units for close to what you would spend on the Primes or slightly more. AI Prime is a good light but it doesn't allow for much flexibility if you want to add SPS later/ Link to comment
HarryPotter
You can find a Gen 1 Radion for $300, a much better option Link to comment
jmessineo1
Would the radion comer the the whole tank? Link to comment
HarryPotter
Would the radion cover the the whole tank? Yep with wide angle lenses. Heres one over a Nuvo40 http://www.reef2reef.com/threads/dturners-nuvo-fusion-40g-build-with-radion-xr30w-gen3-leds.183446/ Link to comment

Oh shit I thought you said Fusion 30. Ya get a Radion XR30w. Gen 1s and 2s are easy to come by at the $250-300 range. Akma just listed a Gen 1 for $250. Really good guy. http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/365672-radion-gen-1/ Link to comment

braaap
Its a 30L 3ft tank Oh so it is a fusion. I'd get 2 XR15s. I have 2 Radions over a 36Lx20wx14h tank. Had shadowing with 1. I'd say 28 inches max for one Radion. Link to comment
Matteo
I think either 2 primes, or 2 kessil 160s, orrr a DIY. Link to comment
reef.led
We offer both the Aqua Pro R60 WIFI and the Aqua Pro Plus that would easily cover that aquarium. They would also be cheaper than the other options mentioned especially after buying mounting hardware. -Jessie Link to comment
doradosteve
2 Primes. Don't break the bank Marine Depot was selling them for $179 each recently Link to comment
Exodus
2 AI Primes for what your wanting will do just fine. It will also save you money as they are controlled by phone/web and you have the choice of Black/White and it's easy enough to find them used on the forums. Link to comment
Matteo
Also aesthetically speaking two prime's would look really nice:) Link to comment
Wretched
I loved my 2 AI Primes over my 45 gallon.... Don't let people fool you, they're an excellent light for the price... This was months back, but they were great. Corals responded very well. Link to comment
Begow
I have a prime over my 30L and I plan on getting another to replace my Mini-Tide on the other side. Great light, all of my corals are reacting well and have great color! Link to comment
Matteo
People look at par ratings and say they are low on paper but when I had one and everyone else it seems too they show great results! Kind of miss mine actually. Link to comment
