xdannyx_
would this design work. It is just the tube with collection cup, has an open bottom with the airpump for bubbles. maybe even make it small enough to fit in a HOB. it could even be closed bottom if too many bubbles would excape, and had holes somewhere on it. Is this design too simple to be true? i have the collection cup part already from an old crappy skimmer that broke. Let me knoe what you think, i just want a simple skimmer, have a air pump already, i have some pipe for the body, just need opinions, i dont want to make a useless piece of junk and wast my time on it. Also any other ideas of small simple skimmers only using an air punp would be cool Link to comment
redparrotbubbles85
Looks like it should work. its kinda like the design of the coralife super skimmer that i have which works great. Link to comment
Xx_de_xX
the corallife super skimmer has an open bottom? Link to comment
DIYDude
Its the same thing as a Lee's skimmer or a berlin airlift. Both are mediocre and dont work great, but if you want a cheap skimmer then that design works fine. If you can work with your hands then look at undertheradar's post about smalllest external skimmer, it works great and its cheap to build. Link to comment
jmt
It's just a counter current skimmer. It will work fine as long as your dimensions are correct. Link to comment
