CJJon
No, not unless you change out that drain system it will always sound like a running toilet. I guess you could lower the drain pipe so that it is well below the water line so it doesn't suck any air. Look at a herbie overflow if you want quiet. Link to comment
evan38109
For starters, your Durso drainpipe looks like it's upside down. The elbow should point downwards (unless this system is designed differently than every other one I've seen). After that, tuning Dursos is largely a matter of balancing the right water flow and air flow. Googling for Durso standpipes should get you more information on that. You can get it very quiet, but it will be tough to make it completely silent. For that, you'll need to look into a siphon-style standpipe like a Herbie. Good luck! Link to comment
Hig789
You can enlarge the hole to let more air in and yes turn the elbow over. I had a Durso on my 90 and it was silent so it is possible. Link to comment
Fnard
For starters, your Durso drainpipe looks like it's upside down. The elbow should point downwards +1. That elbow should be facing down and submerged. Runs on a siphon. My CAD has a similar setup and runs close to dead silent. Also, take a toothpick to the vent hole every once in awhile to keep it fully open. Will post pictures if needed. Link to comment
