Equipment - Raceway 1

 

  • ~300g -- Red Ewald 15ft Raceway Tank
  • ~100g -- Refugium Tank

  • ~40g Two 96x8x8 Fish Cubical Tanks

  • Lots of Jebao Powerheads (And soon Gyres)

  • Reeflo Hammerhead Return Pump (Can be shutoff along with powerheads to look topdown at corals)
  • Pacific Sun Kore 5th Doser with ATO as well as DropDose accessory
  • 3x 400w Radium Halides with Reefbrite Reflectors on a Light mover
  • ATI Powermodule 36" 10 Bulb T5 Fixture
  • Apex Neptune with ALD, Conductivity, pH, Temp, and misc float sensors

  • 40B -- Sump/Refugium

  • Jebao DCT13000 Return Pump
  • 2x BRS Dosers for Auto Water Change (Approx 4g daily)
  • ATI Powermodule 36" 4 Bulb T5 Fixture

 






Dosing/Biological - Raceway Tanks

 

  • Triton Base Elementz (Cal/Alk/Mag/Trace)
  • Triton Individual Elements when needed
  • Zero water changes thanks to Triton B)

The original floor layout (which has mostly been followed) is pictured below.

 

The two long tanks are our fiberglass raceway tanks. They measure 190" x 39" x 12". The sumps are white poly "totes" and hold about 100g each when full. Each of the two main raceway systems is roughly 400g of real water volume.

April 26 - Space being mocked up (I played around with a few different tank sizes and layouts)

May 3rd - Floor crack sealing and replace tankless W/H with a tank to free up some power (100amp vs 30amp)

April 8th - Sink and Sump installed. RODI Tank Stand built and RODI mounted.

May 11th - Fuge and Sump tanks placed and skimmer arrived.

May 13th - Stand for Quarantine System finished and ready for paint. Work benches added.

May 18th - I wanted a framework to be able to hang lights from easily so I went with unistrut. By spanning the large door underneath with strut I was able to retain the ability to open it. This was probably the most laborious of the entire project as driving all of the anchors into the ceiling, cutting, painting, and hanging the strut took a huge amount of time and sweat.

May 20th - Light hanging strut finished. QT Tank in place and light hung for it. A/C Unit arrived.

June 5th - The blocks for stand for the raceway are placed and the stand surface construction begins.

July 22nd - Dry goods and parts storage "wall" put up! (This houses some of the smaller dry goods stuff, we have lots of shelving with the larger items).

August 12th - Several acro shipments arrived and filled up the quarantine. The clean stuff in the raceway is looking super nice.

August 12th - Got a used ATI Powermodule 10x39w for the tail end of the raceway and had to replace the fans in it.
