Wow. I love these "minimalist" style tanks. I can't do them myself (I don't have the discipline to restrict myself to a few species) but I really like the look.

Wow, can't believe this is what the mangroves looked like 2 years ago. Which just made me realize this tank is now over 2 years old lol. 10/29 was its 2 year birthday.

Mangroves are going through another rapid growth spurt. I put more wire on them this morning. I want to shape the branches to start going over the middle of the tank.

Must have missed it - when did you take the sump offline?

I think it was around September or October of 2016.

Edit. Yea, I checked my November 2016 TOTM thread and the sump was off then.

Morning sun hitting the tank. Tank is basically the same minus removal of most of the caulerpa prolifera and moved the LPS under the mangroves.

Just need to clean up some drifting algae’s that cluttered up on the left sand side.

Looking stunning mate, wanted to do something like this, as I've said mangroves are so hard to get here. Looks like something you'd see out in the wild.

No lights, morning sun. You can see the angle of the light fixture pretty clearly in this pic. Definitely has helped with the burning tips

To give an idea on the size of the mangrove canopy right now : 14” wide when looking st the tank straight on. 17” wide when looking down the tank from the long end. 11” bottom leaf to top leaf.

The tank is 18” wide, so at the widest two branches I almost have it completely covered. :) Now the 14” needs to become 48” lol. I’d love to move this back into its original 18” cube and have it cover the entire top.
