Thunder Goose
Wow. I love these "minimalist" style tanks. I can't do them myself (I don't have the discipline to restrict myself to a few species) but I really like the look. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mariaface
Love it! I've got some lilaeopsis arriving today; fingers crossed since I won't be emptying the tank to run it emersed... 1 Quote Link to comment

neuwave
That’s some nice growth. Any chance to see a full mangrove shot? 1 Quote Link to comment
brad908
Wow, can't believe this is what the mangroves looked like 2 years ago. Which just made me realize this tank is now over 2 years old lol. 10/29 was its 2 year birthday. 8 2 Quote Link to comment
Spencer7
Congrats, I think two years is the point at which most tanks truly mature. Quote Link to comment
Sharbuckle
Two years! Congrats. Using your tank as inspiration for a new build. Quote Link to comment

I put more wire on them this morning. I want to shape the branches to start going over the middle of the tank. 23 months later Taken with iPhone 8+ 4 1 Quote Link to comment

I think it was around September or October of 2016. Edit. Yea, I checked my November 2016 TOTM thread and the sump was off then. Quote Link to comment
brad908
I titled the light arm so now the light is on a bit of an angle and gives more room between the mangroves and the fixture. 3 Quote Link to comment

sotsreef
Pics of the whole tank! It’s so inspirational. 1 Quote Link to comment
brad908
Morning sun hitting the tank. Tank is basically the same minus removal of most of the caulerpa prolifera and moved the LPS under the mangroves. Just need to clean up some drifting algae’s that cluttered up on the left sand side. 5 2 Quote Link to comment
pappadumplingz
Looking stunning mate, wanted to do something like this, as I've said mangroves are so hard to get here. Looks like something you'd see out in the wild. 1 Quote Link to comment
brad908
FW tank is still going. Current view : water change and grass cutting. 3 Quote Link to comment
brad908
No lights on, just natural sunlight 8 1 Quote Link to comment
brad908
No lights, morning sun. You can see the angle of the light fixture pretty clearly in this pic. Definitely has helped with the burning tips To give an idea on the size of the mangrove canopy right now : 14” wide when looking st the tank straight on. 17” wide when looking down the tank from the long end. 11” bottom leaf to top leaf. The tank is 18” wide, so at the widest two branches I almost have it completely covered. Now the 14” needs to become 48” lol. I’d love to move this back into its original 18” cube and have it cover the entire top. 4 1 Quote Link to comment
Orangutran
Love this!! The sun lit shots are amazing! Do you trim down the branches to keep it smallish? I am wanting to re-create this in my sump! 1 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Brad this is incredible! The mangrove canopy has filled out so much. Are you seeing any roots spreading beyond the live rock? 1 Quote Link to comment
