dcbaros
How would I go about replacing established rock in a reef tank? Im not happy with my current aquascape and with my current rock not much can be done. Should I just start slowly adding dry rock and removing live rock until I have what I want? Should I just buy some live rock and cure it? Link to comment
nanolutionary
Depending on how long the tank has been established and how deep the sanded is you'll want to be careful you don't released dangerous levels of anaerobic pollutants from a deep sanded and disrupting established liverock will cause nitrate spikes potentially as things die off so you're right in saying small sections at a time. markalot
I would do a rock at a time, and maybe put the first few removed into the sump for a while. Waiting a week or two between changes might be long enough? Link to comment
