jk7124
I have a JBJ 28 gallon nano cube and I'm looking to get a skimmer for it. Best I can tell, hang on back is going to be my best option as I don't really want to do modifications. Looking at the Bak-Pak 2+r or the Eshoppes 75. Anyone have experience or advice on these? Which is better in your opinion? Would this be the best option for the tank I have? Link to comment
jestep
Get an octopus BH1000. It wraps around the rear media chamber so you can still use both. Also, the pump is external and sits on the bottom of the skimmer so it doesn't introduce quite as much heat as a submersible pump would. Here's a picture of mine from a long time back. A water change a week would be much more effective than any skimmer, but then again that's only if you have the time Link to comment

I have two tanks (one 10g with a skimmer and a 28g nanocube with no skimmer). The nanocube had lots of algae all over the place, while the 10g with skimmer had a very little amount of waste and algae. Link to comment

Mine only holds like 4 days worth! Lucky Link to comment

Lucky It was already overflowing TBH because my fish keeper decided to mess with the float switch on my ATO and caused too much water to go into the tank, but he had raised the cup all the way up too, haha. Anyways, even like that, there was barely any algae inside the tank, while my poor skimmerless NC had plenty of GHA to go around. Link to comment
