Erica28
Upgrading led but would truelumen work for a mix reef? Thinking 4-5 over in the hood? Sps top than mix lps, RBTA, than zoa/paly with ric at nea bottom. Thoughts? Link to comment
michaelrzachmann
i had two true lumens and a panorama strip with a ramp timer pro and my mixed reef did ok but at the price of all of those especially with 4 or 5 of them why not just upgrade to a top tier that will grow corals better like a nano box or kessil? Like the say upgrade to the best first because you will end up upgrading to it eventually so why waste the money on not as good product first. Plus i also had a lot of heat with them in the hood and eventually caused some of the LED chips to fail. Hope i could help. Good luck Link to comment
Hig789
I agree with the above. I've never had any of those you mentioned in the OP but I have a NanoBox small retrofit in my 15g. And if the price is even close between the two of them I would go with the one from Dave hands down. Link to comment
Erica28
I need the hood tho. (Cats). I have an AI Sol but really can not fit that in the hood. So tryingto sell that. Than was thinking of orbit led.. not sure yet. Need to see more results. Link to comment

A good amount of customers are on this forum using them as well. -Dave Link to comment

All my corals are super happy and the light quality is insane. I couldn't be happier. Link to comment
michaelrzachmann
if you need to keep the hood, go for dave's retro. I only heard great things, they can grow anything and i think the kits has fans to not increase the temp. Plus if you were to get 4 or 5 of the true lumens it will probably cost about the same if not less for daves Link to comment
