I hope tomorrow Florida weather gives me a break and let me build the stand. I had to buy new wood because the tarp I was using to cover the wood I had already bought had a hole in it and got wet. Here is the new wood. 2x6 #2 for vertical support and 2x4 for horizontal. All hold together by glue and the meanest screws I could find.

Those are the screws, they are guaranteed for life and have a coating on them to prevent then from rusting, they are normally used in outdoor porch construction.

The saw is 0 out and with a new blade, just waiting for good weather to cut the wood.

why not do a 3:5 scape

divide the tank into 8 sections and put one island at the third incriment and a second island at where 5 would be.

so if the tank was 12" one island would be at 4.5 inches and the other would be at 7.5" if you started from one side. and you can do the same for height.

Man last night was raining like crazy, I had to bring my German Shepherd inside, I normally put her, in the shed when it is raining, but she started barking to let her out, so I had to bring her inside. On to the wood stand, I been working like clock work, with every brake in rain I get.

Thanks for the suggestion Cameron6796, it actually sounds like an interesting aquascape

Here is a mock up with out the vertical 2x6

20150830_122226_zpsmawqia0l.jpg

I am not sure about the hight yet, don't know if I should take a few inches of.

And yes the stand is very Anorexic

20150830_122414_zpss2soq8pl.jpg

I had to bring the saw inside getting wet to much.

I can't believe the stand for the 125 I used to have was made out of 1x4, 2x4 just adds that extra insurance for me, even though, the load on it will be completely different. Rembrandt at max weight won't weight anything over 25 lb.

I am definitely building my own stand for my next build, it was pretty easy and much stronger then the store sold stuff.

Now all that is left is sanding and paint.

20150830_132149_zps2mrjllti.jpg

The 2x6 vertical stabilizer are the two piece at the back.

I trim the height by 4 inches.

Just came from home depot with some meaner screws

20150803_220358_zps9vm1fkn5.jpg

Comparison between old and new.

Got some awesome glue for the stand.

20150803_220358_zps9vm1fkn5.jpg

This is the paint that I will be using

20150803_220358_zps9vm1fkn5.jpg

The paint say it is safe to use on kids toys, so I guess it is safe for aquarium stand

Yea, real soon, it should be wet. The stand is based on a 500 gallon tank sand I saw some time ago, I just scaled it down. For the skeleton it uses 2x4 for horizontal support and 2x6 for vertical support. Since this is the part of the build that holds everything together, I like to over do it and build it tough.

The main horizontal support marked for drilling.

20150830_211345_zpslskqni7r.jpg

And this is how they look drill so the screw fit snugly into the wood and not sticking out.

20150830_220819_zpsgpy4ke8r.jpg

Now on to sanding.

Looking at the original inspiration for Rembrandt, for some ideal.

Maybe carbon fiber exterior panel or gullwing cabinet doors

THAT F1 DOE,WTF :o

Yea McLaren F1, sadly this one (chassis #072) is not in the best condition, the owner of it flipped it on a joy ride in Italy

Well I just got off school with this big box riding shotgun and a mad girlfriend in the rear. Complaining why in the hell I would buy a second tank when I haven't even setup the first and why she seating in the rear and not the box

Rembrandt 2 is in this box.

Tank with stand. The previous owner had a false wall silicone to it, I removed the wall, now I just have to find a product that can safely remove silicone from acrylic

such a beautiful car. The mp412-c is a work of art as well.

Yea the mclaren f1 is pure perfection in my eye. I remember the first time I saw one was when I was 8 or 9 and it was amazing, the pure spec of it is insane. To this date no other car has been able to remove the Mclaren f1 out of my top spot for dream car. Pagani zonda r is 2nd and the Lamborghini egoista is 3rd.

Hahahahaha hahahahaha my dude, what are the plans for the second tankk

I was thinking zoanthids only tank with a live rock wall made out of acrylic, no live rock or sand in the tank and connected either to Rembrandt 1 sump or its own sump.

So when is tank #1 going to start cycling?

Soon. I am still working on the stand. I was not planning on the second tank, but I got such a good deal I could not pass on it. It basically cost me two big lipo battery. I just need to find a way of removing silicone from acrylic without damaging the seams.

Awesome!

Yea the inspection for that came from the monolith from the movie 2001 space odyssey

Where Rembrandt 1 is sleek and modern, Rembrandt 2 is tough and rough. I swear it feels like a football, with that 1/2 inch acrylic.

To make the progress on the stand go faster I bought a sander. No more hand sanding.

20150831_190217_zpsctiqnqc2.jpg

First base is done. Glue it on every contact surface and dip the screw in glue.

20150831_201636_zpsi1fbxp7n.jpg

Double 3.5 inch screws on every contact surface

2nd one done.

Bull****. A Baja is over a grand dude

nope he straight up wanted to trade it. It is used and he has had it for some time he wanted the doser for a frag tank he wants to start

On to the stand. Some load testing. I put myself on it 140 to 145 pound plus a 45 pounds on my hands for a total side load of about 180 pound.

The official mock up.

20150831_214204_zpsf9yeogs3.jpg

The only thing left is figuring out the best way to mount those 4 vertical support.

20150831_221022_zpsmoyvoitg.jpg

Double screw and glue in v formation

Thanks to MrReefer81 recommendation, the little tank is starting to look like it's former self

Man goo gone is awesome for removing glue residue.

Look at it now.

20150901_230636_zpsaec6ctje.jpg

I love the dimensions of this tank

The doser mount just got test fitted. I wanted to start priming the stand today, but the wood filler was not completely dry (the white dots and strip) so I couldn't.

I love the huayra and zonda both so elegant looking, yet fierce.

I love the zonda (one of the top cars in the nurburgring) , but I just can't seem to like the huayra, I don't know something about it design, just does not agree with me, but yea definitely fierce, one of the few cars I put up with the mclaren f1.

This video show why the Lamborghini egoista is in 3rd in my list.

The car is batshit crazy, it may not be the top in performance, but in style it is definitely champion, it is the end result of your worker having a mental breakdown on lsd, while having the imagination of a kid.

The diy route for led is not as cheap as I thought:

Led array = 50 to 100

Controller = 100

Mean Well LDD drivers = from 20 to 40 dollars

Ldd driver board = about 30 to 40 dollars

Heatsink = anything from 10 to 80 dollars

Power supply = from 30 to 60 dollar

And that is without shipping

Looking it over the AI prime becomes more and more attractive. The polishing kit has arrived, now I can make Rembrandt 2 shine bright like a Diamond

20150803_220358_zps9vm1fkn5.jpg

The stand build has slowed down a bit, because I am currently rebuilding my car engine head.

20150903_195112_zps1bc7ka6n.jpg

But, it will be finished this week, I already have my handy water bucket for this weekend ready to be filled with ro/di water.

20150903_200908_zpsk3wq85sw.jpg

Here they are, just waiting to be wet and cycled,
