DefStatic
So I had purchased a thing of frogspawn. It has been doing great. It has three heads. I was told it would do fine in high current. I had it placed in a spot in direct contact with the brunt of my rotating deflector. I noticed today that it appeared one of the heads had died. But in retrospect it was still hanging on, just dangling. Or so I assume it is still alive. My thought process is it gave way to the current. Is there anything I can do? Is it just going to fall off all the way? Or is there something I can do to help? Link to comment

It's LPS dude; you need to let the head swell up and gently move in the current; not blast it!! Link to comment
FlowerMama
My frogspawn hate current. Move it to less current immediately. Link to comment
Hig789
Mine likes a decent amount of flow. It gets 50% power from a mp10 AFTER it bounces off the glass. Even if a coral loves flow i don't think they should ever be placed right in front of a return or pump. I'm no expert in SPS though. But especially not a LPS. You pin the tenticals against the skeleton and you aren't going to like the results. I had a short tenticaled pink frogspawn in my last tank that would handle almost all the flow you wanted to throw at it. But the tenticals where only about a 1/2" long. I REALLY miss that baby. najluni15
Low flow for sure with most LPS Link to comment
outerorbiter
Cut the head that's dying off. Move to a lower to medium flow. No direct flow from pump. Link to comment
DefStatic
It's not directly in the flow, but when the rotating deflector turns towards it it does get quite the blast. Everything was fine for a month. I will move it to a lesser flow area.is there nothing I can do for the part clinging on? Link to comment
DefStatic
So I moved it and it seems to be recovering.the part that is dangling is even expanding. But it is still dangling. I really feel like a failure lately LOL Link to comment

outerorbiter
Shit happens often! Even if you do everything right. Let the hanging piece be for now but if gets worse I say cut it. Link to comment

Gooburz
Don't be alarmed as well if your CUC is on it, if they sense it is dying they will move in on the bad part. Key is to give it time, nothing happens over night. Link to comment
