Lu Diamonds
I actually placed the Chemipure Elite right under the bioballs in chamber 2. If anyone disagrees or believes I made a bad choice feel free to correct me or give your opinion. I am eager to learn. there's time when one should be slow to speak and quick to listen...don't wanna lose anymore livestock! Link to comment
pgrVII
No worries, just make sure the chemi pure is in an area of good flow so it contacts the water and you get the most use out of it. The bio balls may impede the water getting to it if the flow isn't strong enough. Link to comment
tjwaggoner
If this is a BioCube or similar I suggest contacting StevieT on here and getting set up with his media basket for your tank. Ditch the bioballs (they're gonna clog up with crap anyway). I'm assuming you have live rock or soon to be live rock in your tank. Link to comment
Lu Diamonds
Yeah I do have live rock and a protein skimmer in chamber 1. So far so good though. No problem with flow. I seemed to be the only one that has tried it this way. Was gonna do media basket but decided to try this and see how it turns out. Link to comment
tjwaggoner
The problem will be when the bioballs clog up with junk. Plus I wouldn't want to have to take them out everytime I replaced chemi pure. If money is a concern for the media basket, make one out of eggcrate to hold your media. Link to comment
Lu Diamonds
Actually money was not a big deal...but I was gonna set up.a rig up with the egg crate idea but had got a little frustrated by my loss this week when my temps hit 95+ in my tank and loss livestock! Purple firefight, Green BTA, neon green hammer coral, blue green Chromis and etc...all this week! Firefish Link to comment
