AI Prime settings as per the aquaristic shop own settings and their advice. 100% 8 00am to 6 00pm. The shop showed me PAR readings under their Primes and max was 250 on the bottom in their 12" deep holding tanks. They run pairs of Kessel 90 watt in the larger holding tanks for PAR on bottom of 200. Depth is 16".

I know this is an old thread but I just recently got the AI Prime. What are the different "k" settings (6.5 k, 10k, 12k, etc.)? I can adjust the percentages on the individual colors, but what do the k numbers represent?

Thanks!

Just got my AI Prime HD Today. Setup using Cheffys program. Have softies and LPS. How's his settings working for everyone else?

Should the whites be brightened up at all?

Lastly which particular color, if any, is best for growth of corals? Do whites offer much in terms of growth?

i've changed my settings from the original ones. I went by the guidelines in the .pdf and halved them. Then I turned acclimation mode on 75% for three weeks

settings

times 8 am to 3 pm, 4 hour ramp uv 20%, v 15%, rb 45%, b 42%, g 12%, dr 15%, cw 32%

lunar 10 pm to 5 am rb 5%

storm no

height above water 10"

tank

Coralife Biocube 14

not sure if the light intensity is still too much. My anemone shrunk after about 3 pm so I turned on acclimation mode for 3 weeks. I also have a gsp.

I would love some critiques to my schedule. I have messed with so many settings but I'm looking for maximum coral growth and nice 14k look.

Also I have been keeping green/red low to reduce algae. How much truth is there to that? And UV I keep a little lower. I'm not sure what it should be set at.

For what it's worth, I've got my red and green both set to around 15%. I've seen my algae decreasing over the past couple of weeks. Obviously the red and green aren't causing the algae to disappear (just new tank diatoms slowly disappearing) but I haven't noticed them causing more algae to grow.
