trunglippo
Hi everyone, My name is Trung, and I am new to the forum. I have been around salt hobby for almost a year with good and bad times. However, I have learned so hard for this hobby, so I would like to re-do everything on my JBJ 22 gallons tank. I just found the nano-reef forum through a good friend today, so I would like to build a thread for my tank. I hope everyone give me advices, feedbacks, or any opinion you have, so I can learn more and improve in this hobby. Here is my old tank JBJ 22 gallons All in one tank. In the main time working on the display tank, I moved all the live stocks to 10 gallons bare bottom tank with small pump and aqua clear 30 filter temporarily. Everything seems doing fine. 10% of water change (WC) every week. I built the stand for the tank since it will be moving from my bedroom to living room. I used small wood studs, plywood, and moldings to build the stand. Everything is from Home Depot, and anyone can do it. After painted with white color Link to comment

trunglippo
Alright, I drained all water out and wiped the tank dry. Now, I just let the tank air dry for couple days while I will be working on the rock scape and wires. This will be a SPS tank, so I got this substrate, so it will not be blown around the tank ...and some dry rocks Link to comment
trunglippo
I did the rock scape last Friday... ..and water was filled in last Saturday....the common cloudy color... Tank has been clear up since Sunday night. I am going to test the water tonight and start adding a piece of shrimp in to create the ammonia source to start the cycle process. Link to comment
trunglippo
...so I did the water test last night. There was a small amount of ammonia in my tank like 0.25ppm. I think it came from the dead rocks and sand. There was so nitrite and nitrate, so I added a small piece of shrimp into the tank and will leave it there for week to see how it goes. I will test the water again after 1 week. Anyone wants shrimp...lol Link to comment
trunglippo
Alright, after one week and there were something happened. The temporary tank where I have kept corals and 2 clownfish got leaked on top at the corner, so it only has 2/3 water in the tank now. Corals so far are doing okay. I got the Dr. Tims One and Only one bacteria bottle from a friend. Therefore, I just poured half of bottle into the new tank and waited for 1 hour to move 2 clownfish over. They have been in there for 2 days so far, and they are doing well with swimming and eating normally. I only feed them once a day with small amount to keep track with all water parameter. So far I don't see any ammonia and nitrite anymore, but the nitrates is around 20ppm. I just pour 1 cap of the bacterias everyday until it's gone. I also made the media bracket from eggcrate. There will be Chemipure, carbon, and phosphate removers in the bracket Here are some pics of the clownfish. Got some Nassarius Snail and Nerite Snail today. Nassarius only come out at night while the nerite is everywhere around the tank. Link to comment
