RIP Sebastian
Hi everyone, I've been a lurker on these forums for a while now. I was thinking of starting a Spec V reef, but than I saw a Nuvo Pico 4 on Craigslist. It's small for a first tank, but I'll be moving within a few years, so I don't want to start a large system just to take it down. So, I have a couple of questions. Does the media basket need to be replaced immediately? I'm on a tight budget. Is 4.5 watts of light per gallon too much light for beginner corals? If not, what is a good wattage? Will I need to dose trace elements, or will water changes replenish them? I could probably do a one gallon water change every day, if need be. I'm planning on getting g SpinStream. Is it a good product? Should I upgrade the pump if I get it? Lastly, stocking. I'd love a clown, but I think it might be too big. Is it? People said I could keep a clown in a five gallon. Otherwise, I'll get a citron goby. Thanks, Nick Link to comment
whatisit
No it does not have to be changed If the light is the stock light then you should be fine 1 gallon water change once a week should keep everything in check Spin streams help with a random flow but the one I had seemed like it reduced the gph, I am not sure what pump comes with it but you will most likely need to upgrade in the future 1 clown should be ok. All of this was for the nuvo I would not recommend the fluval spec V, if you are on a budget, as the nuvo is more reef ready than a spec Link to comment
