mrBananas
Can anyone confirm an ID on this. I'm not sure what this is, but I'm leaning towards a brown cyano. It's all over the tank. Trying to pick out what I can with a turkey baster and I'll test for params shortly. If it is a cyano, what's worked best for you? Link to comment
BluCrab
from my experience cyano is more purplish/ red. I'm actually battling it at the moment. I'm doing a total black out for 3 days. Link to comment
k4ndyk1ng
When I had my cyano, I just cut back my feeding and it went away. Few more water changes too Link to comment

afyounie
It could be cyano. Cyano only has the reddish or purplish coloring once it has grown thick enough. When it is thin, it has a brownish tinge to it like in your pic. Only real way to know what it might be is to view it under a microscope. I will say though, the frag rack looks new and when I first put my frag rack in my tank I had some nuisance algae grow on it. Most likely because the plastic was leaching something. Eventually it stopped and now the rack just has coralline growing over it. Link to comment
