90 gallon plumbing re-do. Sump advice needed

Hi guys,

After trying several different mods to fix the noise and micro bubbles on my 90g setup, I have decided to re-plumb the tank, as I probably should have done in the first place. I purchased the setup used and just went with the original plumbing he had on the tank. The tank is a 90g Marineland corner overflow with 2 one inch holes, and the sump is a diy 30 breeder. Durso drain, eheim 1262 return to split loc lines. He set up the sump with the return in the center and large fuge on the right.

Anyways, I have decided to go with a herbie drain using the existing 1 inch bulkheads and run the return up over the back of the tank. I am also redoing the sump to go from left to right.

My question is mostly with the sump. My thoughts are to have a baffle right after the drain to both cut down on micro bubbles and keep the crap better contained for ease of vacuming detrius in the sump. Then the skimmer section and another baffle to the refugium where I will have my live rock and chaeto. Followed by the typical baffle system, adding a couple of eggcrate shelves to hold media and floss falling into the return section.

I have sketched this out (please ignore my crude ipad drawing skills ?). This. Is my first sumped system, so I still have a lot to learn. Is this layout ok, should I change any of it, etc? My ultimate goal is to make the system quieter as it is in my livingroom, and the noise is just ridiculous, and also to get rid of these dang microbubbles. I have tried every trick I can think of, but I have so many microbubbles that my tank looks like a snow globe!

Any advice will be much appreciated, I have all my supplies in hand, and a little free time this week to get it done. ?
