teenyreef
It's been quite a while since I posted an FTS, so here's a quick and dirty pic. I glued the new acans and zoas in place last night, and moved one of Gena's Idaho Grape montis over from the 4g tank. Fitzgerald is making a cameo appearance in the back in the upper right side https://flic.kr/p/qKnDLq'>https://flic.kr/p/qKnDLq'>IM10 FTS 2015-01-13 by https://www.flickr.com/people/15628054@N06/'>TeenyReef, on Flickr 8 Quote Link to comment
teenyreef
Here's a closer view of the new acans and the rics. The sexy shrimp mostly hang out around the hammer, but one of them ventured over to the acans IM10 Acans and Rics by TeenyReef, on Flickr Top down shot: IM10 Top Down by TeenyReef, on Flickr In other news, I snagged a used macro lens on Ebay the other day (Tamron 90mm). I swear I think I'm more excited to get this new lens than I was for the last batch of corals Can't wait for it to show up! 6 Quote Link to comment

Fitzgerald is really everything you guys said he would be. The whole family is in love with him While I was feeding the tank the other night with the pumps off, Fitzgerald came out and investigated the MP10. If I'd ever had any doubts about keeping the filter screen on it, I don't now! He spent a good ten minutes in it. I had trouble getting decent pictures because the lighting wasn't good, but I was able to get a couple viewable ones by cranking up the exposure. Thanks! Unfortunately I can't give the ghost skimmer a glowing review. It works OK, but so far I can only keep it from producing microbubbles by cranking up the air venturi all the way. It skims pretty well on that setting but it's noisy and I still get a few microbubbles. Other people have reported they got theirs to work OK after breaking it in and playing with the settings, so I haven't given up. But it's been way harder than it should be to get it going. 6 Quote Link to comment

I bought a Tyree Idaho just a couple of days ago, but it doesn't look as nice as yours! I think that it lost some color in the tank that it was in TBH, mine looks more brown than anything. Great progress BTW. 1 Quote Link to comment

Great progress BTW. Thanks! It's a frag I got from Gena and it definitely looks awesome in her tank. Depending on the lighting it can look kind of brown. I didn't do any white balance correction in that pic so it's a little more blue/purple than it is in reality. Mine was quite brown at first while it got used to the tank and the lighting but colored up once the polyps started to extend. 1 Quote Link to comment

teenyreef
Today I got the new macro lens I bought on Ebay (90mm Tamron for $250 - score!). And while I was at the LFS picking up some frozen food I just happened to notice that they had just received a new shipment of Reefgen corals, and, well, one thing just led to another... https://flic.kr/p/qMiaQS'>https://flic.kr/p/qMiaQS'>Green Plating Montipora by https://www.flickr.com/people/15628054@N06/'>TeenyReef, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/qx2Qs1'>https://flic.kr/p/qx2Qs1'>Frogspawn (macro) by https://www.flickr.com/people/15628054@N06/'>TeenyReef, on Flickr This is supposed to be a very small frag of Tracy Morgonian Gorgonian. Still sending warm vibes for your naked worm Yes!!!! Thanks, and actually the high maintenance needs of seahorses still scares me, too! Fitzgerald can't wear a monocle, that is for Col. Mustard who maliciously did in Mrs Peacock in the dining room with the lead pipe. Somehow it just wouldn't be fitting for Fitzgerald to whack the sexy shrimp in the aquarium using a hammer tentacle! (A reference to the board game Clue in case my prior statement doesn't make sense to everyone) LOL 4 Quote Link to comment
