Moonaxe
I am setting up a 11 gallon nano. It is an acrylic tank with a 3/4 gallon little sump/refeugium attached to the back. What skimmer should i use for this kind of setup? I am looking for a quiet model. The tank is im my bedroom and I don't want extra noise. I was looking at a Seaclone Remora hang-on filter. Is this unit too big for my tank? It is also quite expensive. Is there another unit you all could recommend. TY. MJ Link to comment
Lunchbucket
just don't use one and save the $$ and don't have to worry about noise Lunchbucket Link to comment
HuBu
i second lunchbox's idea. i m going to run a 29 gal tank, not even thinking of spending money on a skimmer for it. Link to comment
Dave ESPI
a high quality sea salt mix like Tropic Marin or Red Sea or Aquacraft grade #2 in a RODI water change every 10 days of 4 gal should take care of all your wories. and make yer tank thrive.... Lunchbucket
instant ocean or reefcrystals would be fine. heck about any salt on the market will work. i do a weekly water change of about 15% Link to comment
HuBu
thats why you hear a lot of water change with nanos, you dont hear it much with reef tanks. water change in a nano is like having a skimmer on your tank without the price tag of a skimmer. Link to comment
