Obsessed Reefer
I love it. I know the stand will grow on me, today was just an overall frustrating and long day. And I'm working the next 5 days in a row (retail), so it's going to be exhausting. I need to swing by my LFS and get some vinyl tubing, so that I can drain the tank once I'm ready to add the sand and rock. I'll post a review tomorrow, it's 1:15am here now, I'm going to sleep. Haha. 1 Quote Link to comment
Obsessed Reefer
Long day of work means less tank time. Drained it and added sand and rock. Filled with ro and salt. No idea if I added the right amount of salt because I have no way of weighing it. So I'll wait for it to heat up and test the sg. So apparently I didn't take a picture of the rock before I added water and it got all cloudy, so those will come tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
Obsessed Reefer
Two new photos, water is still clearing up. More so because I keep moving stuff and disturbing the sand bed. Also still trying to get the sg to 1.025, it's at 1.021 right now. Don't have a way to weigh sand, and the container only says by pounds, so I've been added slowly to try and get it correct. I also added my Bio-Spira this morning. Live Aquaria has a really nice pair of black photons in the divers den, which I really want to get, but I don't know if my tank will be set by Tuesday. /sigh. Ignore the thermometer on the front glass, just there until I get my digital one in the mail. https://flic.kr/p/oyzHTz'> https://flic.kr/p/oyzHTz'>fts1 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/oR3Ew7'> https://flic.kr/p/oR3Ew7'>fts2 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr 2 Quote Link to comment

drfu
Got the first box of goodies in today. 20lbs of Fiji sand, two spill mats, the MJ1200, 2 custom caddys, two 100w heaters, a bottle of BioSpira, and a mag flip 100. I have to say, the build quality of the Innovative Marine custom caddy is nice. It's no inTank quality, but for half the price, I'm impressed. I also like that the shelves are adjustable. I should be getting my box of goodies from Marine Depot on Monday, and hopefully the tank and stand by the week after that.I have both the custom caddy & InTank baskets, i say their is nothing wrong with the caddy & they have extra slots to adjust vs. the InTank! Here are a few pics of the rock I got, along with my first idea for a layout in my tank. https://flic.kr/p/osYfkX'>https://flic.kr/p/osYfkX'>rock4 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/oKqx4J'>https://flic.kr/p/oKqx4J'>rock1 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr So I'm moving the furniture in my room, because the windows are being installed tomorrow, and this lands in the perfect place. Set it up, can never have too many IM tanks in the house! I'm pleased with the Custom Caddy's so far, like I said, if I had the extra money I would have gone with the inTank baskets, but they were just too much at the time. And I'm going to be setting it back up, ordered a few supplies for it, have no idea what I'm going to do for livestock plans, my LFS just got the most beautiful maroon clowns I have ever seen in stock, and they were a fairly small pair, was thinking those. 1 Quote Link to comment
drfu
I had my juvi o clowns when i first got the tank, after about 6 months they were just staying in the corner, nitrates were getting a nit out of hand so i moved them, now i have a royal gramma, he seems very happy in there and no bio load issues. Now that i own both i would say that the build quality on the InTank is better so if feels like you got more for your money but at the end of the day what matters is how they work and how functional they are so if imhad to do it again i would say IM Custom Caddy Quote Link to comment
dormreefer
Loving the tank so far! Could you grab a shot of the caddys in place when you have time? These stock baskets are pretty lame and constantly move around especially during feed cycles Quote Link to comment

Obsessed Reefer
I'll photo the caddys tonight. The pair of clowns sold on divers den, no surprise, they were beautiful. My lfs has a really nice Ora onyx pair on sale that I'm going to pick up on Monday. Quote Link to comment
Obsessed Reefer
So I need to figure out my water movement, so that this doesn't continue to happen. Sand Storm by darth.slover, on Flickr Still can't figure out how to post edit photos :/ any suggestions? New Razor Lens by darth.slover, on Flickr I also picked up a new lens for the Razor, which so far is nice, helps spread the light more evenly. First test results! Also finally got my sg to 1.025. First Test Results by darth.slover, on Flickr Also, I'm planning on getting the Mini Max media reactor, my question is, never having a media reactor before, what do I add to it? Can I have more than one media in there at a time? Edited August 23, 2014 by Obsessed Reefer 1 Quote Link to comment

Can I have more than one media in there at a time? The issue with having more than one kind of media in the reactor is that one type may get exhausted faster than the other and could mess with your water chemistry. I have 2 reactors on my Fusion 30. One has bio pellets run together with a skimmer, and the other has phospoban media. I also have Purigen and FX Pro in the back middle chamber with the main pump. Wish I could help you with photo editing, but I still can't figure out all the functions on this forum. I can't even post pictures anymore. I think I reached my space limit. Quote Link to comment

zstriker
This is looking great, I've got the same tank on its way....just curious are you going to run a skimmer eventually? I am looking for suggestions on what would be best, it seems the ghost skimmer gets mixed reviews. Look forward to additional updates! 1 Quote Link to comment
Obsessed Reefer
I don't know if I'm going to run one. I plan for a semi light bio load and to maintain my weekly water changes. Maybe down the road if I find one I really like. My next purchase is going to be an ato. Quote Link to comment
Obsessed Reefer
Here come the photos! I'm happy to say that they seem to be doing well, and are eating mysis. Still unsure of their names, that's the girlfriends job. Here they are acclimating in my old 2.5g mini bow. I must say, the Innovative Marine acclimation kit is pretty sweet, it's more or less an IV drip, with a suction built in. https://flic.kr/p/oUHb6H'> https://flic.kr/p/oUHb6H'>Clowns Acclimating 1 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/oUHb74'> https://flic.kr/p/oUHb74'>Clowns Acclimating 2 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr Here are a few more photos I snapped throughout the day, still trying to get some quality shots out of my camera. https://flic.kr/p/oCtQne'> https://flic.kr/p/oCtQne'>Onyx 1 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/oCtQnK'> https://flic.kr/p/oCtQnK'>Onyx Pair 1 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/oUWYMU'> https://flic.kr/p/oUWYMU'>Rays of Light 2 by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr https://flic.kr/p/oCudr5'> https://flic.kr/p/oCudr5'>Black Out by https://www.flickr.com/people/126151760@N05/'>darth.slover, on Flickr Here's the first editing I've done successfully in Photoshop. My next steps are to pick up a few snails, and some small corals. Again, I plan on adding a few more fish down the road, I want a two spot goby, and a Helfrichi Firefish, but I also need to find a way to seal the gap between the tank and the mesh top. You'll also notice that I ordered a 12" Skkye light, that is going to be for my 8 gallon nuvo that I'll be setting back up, so stay tuned to see that unfold. 4 Quote Link to comment
NanoDiver
Nice clowns! I am dying with anticipation waiting to get myself one, maybe two? I just really want my dry rock to look a little more alive first! 1 Quote Link to comment
NanoDiver
So I need to figure out my water movement, so that this doesn't continue to happen. If you figure it out let me know, my mp10 was doing the same, I placed it as high as possible without letting air suck into it, and as far forward as possible. It is on the right side of my tank if you are looking at it. The sand doesn't blow around anymore but I want the best flow possible. 1 Quote Link to comment
