Monti-Macro Hybrid!

Behold the miracle of science! a cora-macroalgae hybrid! its Aliiiiive!

 

In all seriousness, does anyone have or have seen anything quite like this?

The halimeda has sprung up in the middle of my monti digita colony, but interestingly enough isn't causing any harm, other than maybe taking up space.

But the monti tissue under the shadow and at the base of the halimeda is perfectly healthy and is showing no signs of receeding.

And the monti's being pretty aggressive to, encrusting and growing over halimeda leaves that come into contact with the branches!

 

I don't know if this ultimately is good or bad, but its fun to see, and the monti grows like a weed in virtually any tank I put it in.
