MyJasmineRose
Hi all! So I just got my first coral this weekend (yay!). I picked the frag as I thought it had 2 types of coral and a feather duster on it (of course it's aptasia, but I'll see if the bristleworms can keep it in check for now, it's already a stone crab tank so I guess it's just the island for misfits). My question is, how much time should pass between frag additions? Didn't know if it's similar to fish or not And of course, pic! (just after adding, looks much happier now ) Link to comment
AWillroth
You don't neccesarily need to take it slow, as it's not adding a huge bio load like with fish, but with your tank being young and the parameters likely still settling in, you might want to go slowly just to get an idea of what works well in your tank before you're overwhelmed with frags, moving them around trying to make them happy. I hope that made sense. Link to comment
MyJasmineRose
I mean, it's over a year old I guess that's young by other standards, but I'd have hoped the parameters would've settled by now. But yes that makes sense, thanks Link to comment
Tropi
My tank has only been set up for a bit over two months now, but I've added five little peices of coral at the same time but that's because of a sale they had at the time otherwise usually I do a couple peices with around a week between. AWillroth
Ah, I see. I just figured if it was your first coral that you had probably just got done cycling. Link to comment
MyJasmineRose
It's because it's a stone crab tank so I kept going back and forth between risking it or not he seems to like it so far, glad to know I can add pretty quickly, guess I'll try something different this weekend thanks!
