Hi guys,

Finally I decide to start a new pico reef project, this is what I bought already:

1. Ecoxotic Ecopico 5.1Gall

2. Eheim 50W heater.

3. Jebao WP10

4. Amazon refractometer($26)

5. Pinpoint Fluid

6. Api Salwater master kit

7. Sand

8. Light? AI nano or Nanobox mini tide (I like this one)

I just want some mushrooms, Xenia, frog spam, turbo snails and sexy gobi. what do you think?

Regards,

Gustavo

That wp10 is gunna be too much flow lol.

What salt are you using?

I recommend Red Sea Coral Pro.

As for lights, I use the AI Nano on my Display Refugium, and I love it.

But the NanoBox is a pretty badass light! ;)

Hi,

I will use the same salt. How do you like your Ai nano.

I got a lower Voltage power supply for reducing at 50% power the jebao wp10

Hey then the wp10 might just work like that, use the w1 setting for a nice little wave.

And I love my AI Nano. That's of course using the director to control it. I also have a AI hydra, so the director was a good purchase.

I would only recommend the AI Nano if you are willing to drop cash on an adapter and the director.

Otherwise, NanoBox is your option.

AI nano isnt full spectrum, Nanobox is :)

The new AI Hydra 26 is also full spectrum, its basically the AI Nano on steriods

If it were me, I'd probably get a Nanobox. I've heard nothing but good reviews and that they have great customer service

Exactly! But hydra 26 is $399 and you still need to buy the director since the controller sucks big time lol

Im thinking of upgrading my Nano to the 26 but til its cheaper.

It definitely is a little steep at the moment. I wonder how long it will take before we see a significant price drop lol

I've heard that the 26 has same output and more par than the hydra. Which is why its not a nano light. Maybe instead of buying the 26 I'll just buy a hydra, not long ago I saw the hydra on special for $299. Lol

So the AI nano is not that good for corals, I read some opposed opinions regarding the quality of the light, not the hardware, some successful with this rig. I got the chance to get the Ai nano with controller pretty cheap, less than $200, but Im not sure if this is the right spectrum for a healthy reef tank.

Anyway I just want to have in my tank an easy corals to maintain.

The nano will grow coral. There's many people here who have it and grow successfully.

If you already have it then give it a try. ;)

And the Hydra26 WILL be too much for your tank lol. Its "not a nano light", its a monster lol
