reefmania
Is a patio a good place for a nano reef, about 15 gal? Anybody seen or done this? (Edited by reefmania at 5:42 am on June 20, 2002) Link to comment
JROC
Very interesting. I think the considerations are light and heat. If the area you are thinking of will be exposed to extreme cold and/or heat over the seasons it is a bad idea. Also, a patio I suppose could get a lot of direct sunlight. While some tanks I have seen actually use direct sunlight as thier light source, I think it is a bit tricky to manage. If you have too much direct sunlight and do not keep the tank real clean and cool, the algae and heat might trach the tank! Link to comment
Lunchbucket
umm, you mean outside on a patio?? if that is what you mean i wouldn't do it!! you would have to cover it so you dont' get stuff in it and that would cause a lot of heat hard to chill. if it was in an interior sunroom...you could prolly do it but i bet you would need a chiller no matter what!
