CrazyCarl
I have the 66G. Here is what I did with my sump. I kept the return pipe, Durso standpipe and bulkheads as they came, and just converted the return with tubing underneath. I put a tee with a valve in the return and piped it to a BRS reactor. I also added a check valve to the return line so it doesn't siphon and when I turn the flow off. For some reason, my sump was either made wrong or my tank was drilled wrong. If you notice the return and drain cross each other. Not a big deal but kind of annoying. http://s1280.photobucket.com/user/carlpica/media/IMG_20141204_184042635_HDR_zpslf7ogzmx.jpg.html'> Link to comment

Jimbo662
Did anyone notice that the sump is actually reversible? Link to comment
CrazyCarl
Its not (at least mine wasn't). The skimmer only fits in the one compartment. I would have had to either have the drain dump right into the skimmer chamber or plumb the drain to the front of the sump with 90 degree bends and also restricting access to the skimmer. Jimbo662
my sump has two square compartments (both the same size) on one side that both drain under the baffle into each other and into the center chamber. I can put the drain line into either one and the skimmer fits in both. Link to comment
zzx6rpezza
Mine was not also the other side the skimmer wouldbt fit. So i modded it som i have put bubble traps around the pickup now Mine was not the skimmer was to big for the spot on the other side so i used some spare glass and modded it hey worse comes to worse ill get a custom sump lol Link to comment

Jimbo662
So, I'm dry fitting the plumbing right now and noticed the gray T return tube fits kind of loosely in the bulk head. How did everyone assemble theirs? Or when you attach the loc lines does that just kind of hold it in place? Link to comment
aesp533262
Out of plain curiosity, test a pc of standard 1/2" pipe from lowes or home depot. Does it fit snug? the grey pipe isnt standard size (atleast not on mine) Link to comment
Jimbo662
Yeah, the 1/2" pipe is snug. Guess I'll just build my on T. As usual for me when plumbing a tank...just another trip to Lowe's! Link to comment
aesp533262
pipe, "t", two adapters. make sure to do the adapter closet to the drain hole first to make sure the pipe stays straight. I had to cut part of the adapter to make it work. mine leaks just a little, like a drop every 3 days or so, but i noticed some salt creep on it yesterday. might change that out and get a cleaner cut on a new adapter. Jimbo662
got everything set and dry fitted. Time to glue it all up and hopefully get water in it by the weekend. Unfortunately my pics are too large to upload...I'll have to try to figure out how to get smaller files! Link to comment

rengb6
I just wanted to update that I received my replacement display tank one day after my original post. The boyfriend and I just finished building the stand and hood. We'll leak test the tank this weekend. Thanks SC aquariums for great customer service! Link to comment
