syntax_error
Hi guys, I was wondering if it's possible to make a Borneman type surge device with an electronic valve. So basically the return pump fills a container set above the aquarium. At certain intervals an electronic valve will open causing water to rush in to the tank. Valve can be controlled by a microcontroller such as an arduino. Has anybody done something like this before? What kind of valve can be used (plastic solenoid)? Link to comment
jedimasterben
You're correct in that you'd need a plastic solenoid to do it. Other than finding one the right size, that's about the only complication. Link to comment
syntax_error
Nice! Would something like this work? Link to comment
evilc66
Probably, but depending on the amount of water you are looking to dump back in the tank, and at what rate, 1/2" might be a little small. Link to comment
farkwar
I believe you might be looking for Hayward valves. http://www.haywardflowcontrol.com/ctg/Automated-Valves_10202_10053_-1_200210_11005_C.htm Etc et al Link to comment
