Polarcollision
trying to figure out if I have a chemistry problem Tank has 22 small 2" frags of SPS (montis, birds, acros) and 10 LPS (chalice, acan, trachy, duncan) Dosing 6.6 mL of ALK and Ca keeps Alk at 6 dKH. Way too low. So do I bump dosing up to 8+ mL/day to try and hit 8-9 dKH? This seems like a lot to dose, but is it actually normal/expected? OR is it more likely that it's crashing out of solution instead? Thanks for the help! ~D Link to comment
jonny roks
D, how many gallons is your tank and which two part are you dosing? What is your Salinity [calibrated], alk, cal, and mag? I personally suggest correcting your levels to where you want them and then perform a series of tests to figure out true consumption. Link to comment
frankdontsurf
Why not go with Klakwasser? How much do you top off? Link to comment
Polarcollision
I just want to know if 8 mL of B-ionic alkalinity for a 24 gallon with 20 SPS is expected? Link to comment
awpong
That sounds about right. For my 20L, I was easily dosing 20mL of each a day, and I still had trouble keeping my dKH above 7. Just keep monitoring your parameters to make sure that you aren't over dosing. Link to comment

Good to know it likely is. On the plus side, conditions must be perfect for growth (outside needing to increase doing amounts) Link to comment
