I figured this would be the best place to post this...I found my crab with an aggregating anemone stuck to his face!!! Don't worry, I pulled it off afterwards.
Ouch! I hope it's okay. Thank for for the contribution.

King of coral mountain ;)
Lol. Needs more crab! :)

That was a great video!

This isn't exactly stacking, but seeing all the hermit crabs in their orderly line reminded my of the picture I took of my Nerites' morning traffic jam:

There's that one guy who's backwards...just like every other traffic jam I've ever been in :)

 Nice symmetry to that pic! That third one is like, "nope, nope, nope."

Great addition to the thread. Thanks teeny!

Well done! I love those zebra striped hermits. They're good workers.

I've been watching. Mine fight over shells and stuff, but they don't stack. :(

Keep watching! I'm sure you'll catch two or three eventually.

Well this was a big ball of inverts. They fell just as I clicked.

3 jumbo Tongan Nassarius

2 not so jumbo Tongan Nassarius

5 Nasarius vibex

And right in the very middle completely swamped by slime is a hermit crab.

They're all fighting for an algae wafer

Not crab stacking, but reef tank inhabitant stacking... lionfish perched on an urchin, which is on a fighting conch

D'oh! I hope he at least keeps it. I remember frequently, my hermits would try out a new shell for a day and later decide to trade back to their original shell. Looking forward to the pic!

This thread is absolutely hilarious/awesome. I will try to get some pictures. I have tons of hermits and they love stacking. I get a lot of snail/hermit stacking. Is that allowed? :P

Thanks NY! I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Pretty much any stacking is allowed here. Most of it is crab related. There's been plenty of invert involved stacking pics with and without crabs. There's even been a few fish related stacking events. It's all in good fun. Whatever you have, bring it on!

I think my record is four crabs stacked up. I'd love to see more than that with or without crabs. The tough part is noticing it and photographing it before they disassemble.

(BTW, where are you in Manhattan? I used to live next door to the 92nd St. YMCA.)
