thunt55
I have a new 16g IM Nuvo tank. I would like to begin bi-weekly 2 gallon water changes. Once the new water is heated to the right temperature, salinity checked, and the powerhead has stirred it up for a while can I just take a one gallon pitcher and scoop my existing water out of my tank (twice) and then scoop the new water from the bucket and slowly pour it in (avoiding the whole siphon thing)? Thanks in advance for any advice. Link to comment
tibbsy07
You could do that, yes, but siphoning the water out of the tank allows you to clean up some of the extra crud in the tank. Link to comment
ps2cho
Sure, but you're going to get sick of it mighty quick. A siphon is dirt cheap and will make it seem less of a chore. That and a cheap maxijet to pump the water back up into the tank from the bucket on the floor. Less manual labor the better you will enjoy doing the water changes. Link to comment
