Is a 160 watt Razor Over a Nuvo 38 a Good Idea?

Hello,

 

I am planning a new tank for getting back into the hobby and I was wondering about a lighting option for the tank I going to use. I am more than likely going to use a IM Nuvo 38 tank and was think about using the 120 watt razor over this. The tank will be primarily sps and other light loving corals. But given the dimensions of the tank and the lighting fixture I was thinking about the 160 watt instead. The reasoning for this is to help with the light spread and eliminating the dark sides of the tank.

 

Please let me know your thoughts and Ideas about this set-up.

The Maxspect Razor 120W is a perfect choice for the Innovative Marine 38 Gallon Nuvo Aquarium! Even with SPS corals, I see no reason to step up to the 160W model unless you plan on getting a larger aquarium in the future.
