Jon Swanson here from the E.O. Smith High School Coral Project here!

I wanted to reach out to the nano-reef community to extend an invite to you all to come out to the 7th annual Frag Farmer's Market in Storrs CT on March 8th 2014. An offshoot of the coral aquaculture project I work on with students at the high school I teach at (www.eosmithcoralproject.org), the FFM has grown into the biggest "swap" in the Northeast, bringing together some of biggest names (Jason Fox, Hiller, Pacific East, etc..) alongside a ton a of hobbyists who sell off their own homegrown frags. If anyone is in the area, please come out and check it out.

I am also looking for more hobbyists (and shops) to set up at the FFM. The whole idea behind the event has always been to give the little guy a low cost-low stress "show" venue to be able to sell their corals at and make a few $. My thinking being that if the hobbyist has the chance to make a few $ fragging, they are more likely to grow, frag, and distribute aquacultured corals. Anyway, if anyone is interested in coming out to sell, shoot me a PM and I can give you details on set-up and such. Last year we had over 500 people come out and almost 40 "vendors" and it keeps growing every year!

Let me know if you have questions!

The FFM looks to be HUGE this year. I already have more than 40 "vendors" coming out to sell for the day and that is where we finished last time! It is definitely worth a trip out to Storrs to check it out this year if you have never been.

As of two days ago the vendor spots for the FFM are all FULL, which is crazy because we are still two month's out. I will have a whopping 50 people selling coral set-up for the day. Doing a little quick math, that is.... ALOT of corals! If only I knew some people who would love to see a ton of different corals for sale at super cheap prices...

I'm putting the list together of vendors and should have it cleaned up and ready to post in a few days!

I apologize now for screwing up someone's name and definitely someone's home state. I might have guessed on one or two...
Happy reading!

It's like 2.5hrs away. I just setup when I get there. Shouldn't. Get cloudy if you don't bring sand in the setup. I just bring a small tank with about 5g of water. I have a neat little setup. With a tiny 1g sump that I put a heater in. There are a bunch of different methods. I might have pics of my frag setup on here somewhere

Pictures of the frag racks.. I was just in there tossing more new frags in so some things might be newly fragged or just annoyed with me :P
