cirionrc
OK, I have b-ionic calcium buffer 2 bottle stuff. What is the difference between this and kalkwasser. Are these only used when ph and alkalinity is out of wack? Or is this to keep the water rich with calcium. How do you keep the water rich in calcium without affecting the PH? Will using the products keep the ph at 8.2-8.4 always? Link to comment
gobies
Kalkwasser -- German for "lime water" -- is just the calcium part, which can throw your pH for a loop if you're not careful and add too much. B-Ionic has the alkalinity supplement, which prevents things (like adding too much calcium) from throwing your pH for a loop. For my 10g tank, I'm adding 2.5ml of each part 2-3x/week. Sometimes, when the big aiptasia are annoying me, I use a pipette to squirt the "part B" calcium supplement right into the aiptasia. It doesn't kill them outright but they definitely don't like it. At least they hide for a while. : Link to comment
