Made in Africa - A Shallow Reef

I actually saw the overflow like this on a tank here and didn't want to lose too much space with an overflow box, so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the compliments on the scape, I'm pretty happy, now I want all those rocks to be covered with amazing colours. :)

This is actually my first tank that will have coral and a sump. About 10 years ago I had a FOWLR tank, nothing special, just a couple of clowns and an anemone. But I did love it none the less. ;)

I'm more patient now ( not really ), so I'm willing to take it slow and do it right. Haha.

I guess once in awhile, you can shut off the main pipe and let the water drain into the emergency one to skim the surface?

There is something therapeutic with exposed LR too, so a nice balance of colour and LR is cool!

Yeah, we are all impatient when it's the first tank, like being a virgin! lol We take it slow when experienced! ;)

Yep, easy enough if need be.

Yup, there is beauty in everything if you look for it.

Any good SA beers? lol

The whole craft scene is starting to take off here which is great, finally we're starting to produce some good beers. Don't get me wrong, I'll drink the big brewery beers if need be, but gradually they are becoming worse and more mass produced. ;)

These guys have some good stuff - http://devilspeakbrewing.co.za/ and http://www.darlingbrew.co.za/

Every time I make it over to the North America I make sure I have a Rogue Dead Guy Ale, it's my favourite beer.

It does not really taste like cider, its really hard to describe. It is an acquired taste though, you either love it or hate it.

Closest thing I can think of is its kind of lambic.
