ps2cho
Seems a stupid thread.... but all the turkey basters I have bought push water out of the bulb when I squeeze it hard to get some pressure to blow off the rocks. Is there a specific brand or type of baster that you guys use and works better? The walmart one was absolutely worthless. Got one at Fry's and it is marginally better...but nothing that holds tight. Chadf
Doesn't seem like a stupid thread to me. Mine sucks, I'm interested to see what you guys are using. Link to comment
ninjamyst
Mine sucks too so I just placed an order for Two Little Fishies Julians Thing. Link to comment
cet98
squeeze more "gently" He-Man................(...that's what she said...) Link to comment
GHill762
I've had two, the first one really sucked.. I find that the key is keeping the joint between the bulb and pipe clean and dry.. The one I'm currently using came from bed bath and beyond.. I'd really like a longer one.. Link to comment
dvsclownfish1
The Turkotron Baste Blaster form Spishak is what I use and it's amazing. Squeeze hard and all the water/broth goes where it's needed, not out the bulb. Link to comment
Lepomis
Pampered Chef and leaps and bounds better than the budget basters. Link to comment
Dramad1
On my last tank I used a feeding type baster from corallife I believe. Small bulb on the end but it was nice and long and disk the job just fine. Link to comment

cet98
I'd really like a longer one.. ................(...that's what she said...) you guys are making this too easy........ The one with the blue ball at the rate he's going.......that would be the OP...... Link to comment
lnglostsurfer
I just don't let the water level come all the way up into the ball and I haven't had any issues with my el cheapo. Link to comment
ElmoC
If you're just wanting to blast the rock, what about getting a small submersible pump, attach a hose to it and blast them that way? Link to comment

ElmoC
I don't want to send my snails across the tank lol You get a small one that doesn't have that high of flow. Link to comment
Growerguy
Hmmm.. I just got a cheap one from the grocery store.. Its tough rubber.. Its lasted me 6 years now. Maybe they don't make them like they use to. Link to comment
Chew_Magna
I think I paid $1.50 for mine at Walmart and it works fine. If you're squeezing so hard you're blowing water out the bulb calm down! Lol! All you need to do is "puff" it. Link to comment
Roshan8768
I just use my koralias to blow out the detritus from my rocks. Pushing 750GPH and have yet to see a snail (or anything for that matter other than crap) come flying off the rocks. Then you could use a cheapo turkey baster to feed your corals. I prefer a 10mL plastic pipette for feeding purposes Link to comment
Angel<3Nanos
Got mine at family dollar for a buck. Works like a champ. Link to comment
frankdontsurf
I use a 60cc Terumo minus the needle.. I had it laying around works fine for feeding corals and stuffing food between my rocks (for my dragonet). Link to comment
CrazyEyes
I just bought one from the grocery store. It was like $3. Works fine to me. Link to comment
biocubedatx
I put a plastic pipe clamp on mine and it no longer squirts water out of the bulb. Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
Electrical tape should work as well. It don't take much, just a lil push;) Link to comment
