Jay Wee
Hi nano reefers, Looking for some opinion here. I'm going bigger, well not that big but significantly bigger from my 24g Nano. I've narrowed down to 2 options. The Elos System 100....... or Cadlights Artisan II 70. I know very well that the Elos systems are like the Rolls Royce of aquarium and I'm prepared to drop the $$$ if I have to. Might have to sell my leica or canon gear . Whoever's interested PM me. And then I found the Cadlights Artisan II 70g. Definitely looks like an Elos but significantly cheaper. If I went with the Cadlights Artisan I would have a lot of $$$ left TO BUY MORE CORALS!!!! AHHHHH. But I've read horrendous reviews on this forum and other reef forums on the cad lights. But they might be the older version of the Artisan. I know they made improvements on the new Artisan II specifically the stand. Its not some cheap Ikea particle board anymore. So I'm inviting owners of Elos System and Cadlights Artisan II Aquarium to share their experience of owning these tanks. Link to comment

TristanC
Damn upgrade time huh? Wish I had the dough for one. For the price I would go with cad, if you run into quality issues make them fix it lol.. I thought coralvue is now the us distributor for Elos. Link to comment
Jay Wee
You know elos is no longer in the US right? I know they moved their US distribution to Coral Vue. The same guys responsible for Maxspect and Reef Octopus. I've just contacted them and waiting for a reply to see where I can get my hands on an Elos System. Link to comment
JR!
without a doubt go with the elos Link to comment

I have idiotic friends buying me expensive Watanabei Angel and lyretail Anthias and now I'm forced to upgrade to a bigger tank. And my fiance promised me to fill my tank with corals when I get a bigger tank. So HELL YEAH!. Well she has no idea what she's in for. She's ####ed. I'm going for a sand bed full of captain America Paly and Armor of God Zoa. hahaha I do wanna give Cadlights a chance. I do like their aquarium. Hoping someone here who owns one can give me their opinion. Link to comment

ReviloM
I can help you out. Cadlights 75G is 974.99 http://www.cadlights.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=47&products_id=253 or SCA 65G Starfire for 799.99 http://www.scaquariums.com/product_p/sca-65.htm I have the SCA 65G Starfire. Here is my thread with images of the tank: http://www.nano-reef.com/topic/327800-65g-deepwater-sps-and-anthias-only-tankupdated/ P.S. I have had a cadlights tank before. The craftsmanship is pretty good but the customer services sucks and is a pain to deal with. Link to comment

But I'm just a sucker for white glossy cabinets. But it's quite easy for me to paint it white. Really enjoy your build thread. Digging your bare bottom and minimal scape. Link to comment

I did look into Reef Octopus but the largest they have is 48 gallons. And it's actually quite pricey for a 48 gallon $1400++ for a full system. Link to comment
ReviloM
Thanks! Cadlights and SCA are major competitors in Cali. I got frustrated with cadlights and stumbled upon to SCA and been happy every since. The shipping is done by freight delivery. . The only difference is that you missed the free shipping sale I got a hold of. Link to comment
JR!
now i wanna order the sca.....damn this thread. Link to comment
ReviloM
You won't regret it if you did. Give me a sec. let me check and see if any of the local stores have a free shipping sale on the aquariums. SCA allows the LFS to sale the tanks for them and sometimes they run specials like when I got mine. Link to comment
Jay Wee
I know me too. Damn the ####er who started this thread. Link to comment
ReviloM
Ok. I looked and currently no special for free shipping at any of the retailers. You can call SCA and see if they have a specials coming soon. Link to comment
