Jay Wee
Jay I just wanted to say you really cemented me on getting the razor! Enjoying following your thread. Nice man. The razor is just amazing. Really compliments any sort of tank cuz it's so low profile. The in built timer works like a charm. I never have to worry about forgetting to turn off my lights. I just set it on preset 2 and everything is done for you. The best part is the temperature controlled fan. Turns on when it gets too hot. Comes in handy during summer days. Link to comment
Jay Wee
HELLO CUC! I think I ordered 15 Dwarf Ceriths but I got 5000. Florida Ceriths Nerites Nassarius Thank you IM for the complimentary AccuDrip! Works amazing. Perfect length. Snail Orgy. Sorry these pictures kinda crappy. iPhone camera sucks balls. I'm gonna start whipping out my DSLR. Link to comment
Jay Wee
Shit! I just read up on Reefcleaners website and they say not to do drip acclimation. I ####ed up. Gonna put them in the tank now. Link to comment
BadCrab
I was going to say something, they will probably be fine. I always drip inverts (haven't ordered from RC yet though) Link to comment

I do think they're fine too. Most of them are already leeching onto the rocks and glass. Link to comment
defender.TX
Oh my gosh! Tons of snails! That's awesome. I can't wait to get my cleanup crew - looks like you're about a week ahead of me. Also, is there any specific reason why you shouldn't drip acclimate snails? Link to comment
Jay Wee
I think the reason one would drip acclimate the snails is so that they don't get a sudden swing in PH and salinity. But Reefcleaner's snails are able to handle swings cuz they're hardcore like that. But what they can't handle is the ammonia build up in the bag during the shipping process. And the longer you prolong from adding them to the tank, you're poisoning them as the clock ticks away. Holy shit I'm probably not explaining this right but here's Reefcleaners url on acclimating their snails. http://www.reefcleaners.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=31 Link to comment

For those following along what lighting are you using over your nuvo 24's ? Keep cracking the jokes your hilarious !! I'm using the Innovative Marine Skkye Light Dimmable Dualstrip since I won both of them together. It has some nice features, like being able to manually control the white/blue channels independently and having 3 seperate AC plugs for the whites/blues/moons so you can control them independently from the outlet as well. However, for the price, I probably wouldn't buy the light unless it was just way brighter than the razor. I haven't seen a razor in person so I have no idea how they compare. Link to comment

The superwide display is just amazing. 36" of real estate, even my TV isn't that wide.(Yeah yeah seriously I need a new TV) I love these lights. You want something that's bang for your buck with everything in it (Cooling fan, Program-Timer, etc) you go with the razor. The only other light I had consider was 2 X Kessil A350. But then with the controller and everything it would have been over the $1000 mark. Honestly I really wanted something low-profile and doesn't take away the sleek aesthetics of the tank and the Razor is the best choice. I'll eventually hang it but I really don't mind the tank mount at all. Link to comment
tierarzt
Wow..I'm sold. Looks like I'll be buying a razor in the future . Thanks for the insight. Link to comment
Jay Wee
Its been 6 days since I put in my CUC. They've been doing a tremendous job these little suckers. Sucking my rocks dry. They got rid a whole layer of nasty brown/dark green nonsense and revealing some really nice coralline algae on the rock. Am I safe to say I'm over the uglies? Cuz I really want to start introducing in my first pair of clowns. Can I mix a picasso with a Black & White? Or is it recommended to have a pair of the same kind and one solo black & white? I'm also considering a shrimp & goby pair. Should I introduce them first or the clowns? Link to comment
BadCrab
Generally introduce less aggressive species first. Alpheus shrimp are jerks though, and he should be able to handle himself (and protect the goby) should you decide to drop your clowns in first anyway. You can totally mix colormorphs, for getting a pair you'll want to make sure both are the same species though (A. percula vs A. ocellaris.) I wouldn't do more then a pair in the tank. Good livestock choices, both of them! Thinking about anything else? Link to comment

Jay Wee
That's a lot of livestock! Hope it all acclimates well! Drop by Coral Theory in Brooklyn on my way home from work and couldn't resist. I was like a kid in a candy store. Check out their super clean displays!!! I don't think I got a lot. They actually dissuade me from getting more stuff. I really wanted a Goby & Pistol Shrimp pair but they told me to wait a couple more months. So I settled on a pair of clowns and a Algae Blenny to help graze the ground and eat those algae. I also got a really cool Halloween Hermit to add to my CUC. And of course I had to walk by the Coral tanks (more like walk by 15 times) and saw some really beautiful frogspawns and Zoas. So i just got a couple of frags. Link to comment
Jay Wee
Black & White Clown + Black Ice Snowflake Clown. They seem to get along most of the time but occasionally they'll chase each other. Not sure if it's fighting or not. Can't tell. Not familiar with the behavior. How long before they start making LOVE? Algae Blenny. Totally chilling out with his snail buddy. Halloween Hermit Crab. This thing is super cool. Love the vibrant orange and the red band on the legs. The Nassarius snail is totally hitching a ride on top of the crab. So stupid. Frogspawn. I'm actually surprised the frogspawn is already opening up. I guess my water must be pretty good. Gotta pat myself on the back for being patient with my cycle. There's so many mixed opinion about whether or not to drip acclimate coral but I went ahead and did a quick half hour drip. Works well. What Zoa is this? It's sort of orange pink. Link to comment
