I love those tank dimensions! I think you'll need 6 bulbs over it though.

Thanks, everyone!!!!! I'm really excited about this upgrade. I hope it doesn't take too long to get everything running. I bought the sump today, online. Still need to get the skimmer and the return pump.

Awesome! I figured most people would get the reference :D

Thanks, JG!!!! Thanks for the Mother's Day wishes too. I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating today as well

Yeah, I love the dimensions too! I'm going to see how the 4 bulb fixture does since that's what I already have (using it on my 28g). I am figuring the cost of a new light fixture into this build though. I'll be getting the 6 bulb T5HO dimmable light fixture from ATI if I find the 4 bulb fixture to be insufficient.

Looks like this will be a pretty awesome build....I'll follow along on this one.

What kind of wood are you using to skin the stand?

Thanks!!!! That's all plywood. The top is something we had on hand. It's not plywood. Not sure what type of wood it is. Looks like those butcher block tops.

The stand will be PURPLE!!!! I'm going for unconventional and I LOVE the color purple, so that's what it will be :D

The doors are made entirely out of plywood. One sheet with 4 raised strips around the perimeter. I'm going to get wooden handles at Lowes and paint them the same color as the stand.

Most of my friends aren't into the fish thing. That picture would really confuse them

Here's the color purple I'm going with. It's the darkest shade on that card, at the bottom. It's called Chilled Wine

Excellent color! Your stand is sturdy and sleek looking. What a great Saturday project. Your Hubby is da man! :D

I hope you had a grand Mother's day.

Following of course!!! :P

My daughter and I just watched Bus Stop for the first time last night. It was boring until Marilyn appeared on screen and transformed the movie from boring into captivating.
