Who needs a fancy paludarium when you can just go outside? 😁 Really nice tank by the way! It seems you've been down of late because it is not quite what it used to be, but I am just seeing it for the first time and I think it is very beautiful. 😊 Yes, I love seeing these beautiful lizards. Not so much the curly tailed ones because they eat the Florida native anoles, chameleons and geckos. The tank is definitely not looking it's best. Seems I go through this every December through March, but this year was worse. Working on bringing it back to it's glory days Quote Link to comment

Pjanssen
Hawkeye just loves to pose for the camera. I finally got one in focus. I thought I scrubbed all of the algae off the glass, but I see now that I missed a lot: 3 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
A rare moment when Grazer stayed put long enough for m to get a shot off. I worry that I might be getting rid of too much algae and he will start to starve. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
This stray mushroom has been trying to grow for quite some time in the back of the tank. Not really sure what it is or where it came from. Doesn't really look like my red Rhodactis, and definitely not blue. A hitchhiker from who knows when I guess 2 1 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
except for lightening up a little, these photos are unedited picture of the Grape Montipora capricornus that I got from @teenyreef last year. I also got a gorgeous red one from him but I can't capture it on film. Also doing well are the 2 greens that I got from @HarryPotter. One is a Christmas cap but the red polyps are so tiny that I'm having a hard time capturing them. Maybe during or after feeding they will be better 3 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
In todays light, this little shroom looks purple with yellow stripes. I hope it continues to grow and propagate 2 Quote Link to comment

Pjanssen
Was all set to pull the trigger on the Aquamaxx 57 cube, Eshopps Nano sump and Aquamaxx skimmer from@Marine Depot because it was on sale (10% off of tank and skimmer only) When they hit me up with a $150.00 delivery charge. Kind of makes saving $60.00 less appealing. 😖 And on a sad note, Grazer has been missing for over 24 hours 😢 4 Quote Link to comment
vlangel
O no, I hope grazer turns up, (in a good way). I worry about my 2 combtooth blennies as they also need filamentous algae. I do feed frozen emerald entree, formula 2 and green pellets to supplement their need for greens. They are omnivores however so only a portion of their diet needs to be greens. On a positive note, your coral are looking quite nice! 1 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
Sadly Grazer has not shown up. I tried feeding him Omega one veggie pellets and the seaweed out of LRS but he wouldn't eat it. Also clipped seaweed strips in the tank hoping he would take it when I wasn't around, but he didn't and he really wasn't shy (most personality of I lawnmower that I ever had). There is also still plenty of algae in the tank. It's strange, because he was not acting off at all, and all of the fish got along-I never saw any hassling between him and the others. Killer crab? Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
Did some rearranging today and freed up quite a bit of real estate. I had planned on buying some things from Legendary corals today as they were/are having a sale, but I just didn't see enough to warrant spending $50.00 on shipping, and I don't want to add stuff to my cart just to feel it's worth the shipping. Anyway, here re a few FTS's Front view Right side view Left side view 7 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
This tank seems to be really healthy and doing well. I have quite a lot of open real estate though, so went to the LFS to pick some stuff out. After the first 5 or 6 things that I got prices of 200-2000 dollars, I had to let out a WTF! The guy laughed and said I have good taste, then directed me to a different section where I picked out a $10.00 no name cyphestrea and A (gulp) $60.00 burning banana styloceonelia. They both should encrust over some of the open rock that I have and help to fill this tank in a little. If they do well, I may eventually add one of the more expensive ones that I liked. 6 Quote Link to comment
Christopher Marks
The rearranged reef looks really nice @Pjanssen, good balance, and lots more room for the torch and leather corals to spread out! The monti cap has really grown a lot this summer too, neat to see it making more shelves up top! It's all a letdown from there, I always start at the $10 tanks now 😄 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I’m worried that I will compromise the beautiful shape that it has though. 2 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
Water change day. All is looking good. Glued the Cyphestrea and burning banana down. Hopefully they like where I put them and do well. I really need to figure out how to frag teeny's red monti Cap without ruining its shape. I can picture how I want it, but don't really know how to go about it. I'm about due for some pictures. maybe later this evening when there is not so much light in the room and everything has settled down from the cleanup. 1 Quote Link to comment

billygoat
Gorgeous! I love this tank. You have so many beautiful and varied shapes and colors on display. And I love that hawkfish! I feel like I don't see those very often in the hobby for some reason, perhaps because they are more difficult to obtain than the typical gobies/blennies or other perching fish. Is it just the clown pair + the hawkfish in here? 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Is it just the clown pair + the hawkfish in here? Thanks. This tank has definitely had its ups and downs over the years, and I consider it to be in an up phase at the moment. Hoping to get the new cyphestrea and burning banana to cover up some rock. I've got to figure out what to do about that red monti though. It's so beautiful the way it is, but it's kind of taking over the whole tank (uh, bigger tank?!) I love Hawkeye, he's my favorite fish ever! I got him at a LFS, so I don't think they are too hard to come by. He was sold to me as a Tile Hawkfish but I can't find anything on the web with that name. closest picture is a Dwarf Falco Hawkfish, but they supposedly like to hang out on the substrate, where Hawkeye definitely likes to hang out on the rocks and Montis. He is less aggressive than other hawkfish. I've not had any issues with him and the clown fish. Yes, currently they are the only 3 fish in the tank. Every time I try to add another it doesn't make it more than a couple of months and I can't figure out why. I would like another fish in there, but feel like its a murderous endeavor and irresponsible husbandry. Quote Link to comment
